I think they have the highest ceiling since maybe the Final Four team, however, they have room to grow. This team will only go as far as limiting turnovers, playing defense and rebounding will take them. It will be curious to see how the new guy fits into the rotation. Stephenson was the steal of the group. The offense flows much better when he is in the game. Wague is exciting to watch. Mitchell’s offense reminds me of Butlers, however, sometimes he needs to rein it in and could improve his defense. Very fun to watch this team.

Rein him in and he will lose that edge that fires up the team. Just fine without any reins.

This team has a high ceiling. Beat Kansas, Baylor and Tech plus finish top 4 and they will be considered as good as that group. This team is definitely deeper than Carter teams.

It is not like this is a bold statement. There have been 4 teams since Carter. The dumpster fire of the first year after JC. The potential of Oscar and Derek with so-so guard play in 2nd year post JC. Then the disappointment of Oscar quitting despite Miles really coming on as great contributor in the 3rd year post JC. Lastly the dumpster fire from last year after Derek and Miles left. Pretty easy to say it is better than the dumpster fire teams at this point. Outside of Purdue, which has manhandled some pretty good teams and was only really contested by Marquette this year, WVU hasn't really struggled or dropped one against the early schedule as all the last four teams have. So it is too early to definitively make that statement, but it certainly is not an outlandish or bold prediction considering how the first 7 games have gone this year.

I mean, in a way he plays like Joe Alexander did before his crazy March push. If he would slow it down a little like Joe did, in the post particularly, I think he could be as dominant

Like what I’ve seen so far. Team is athletic, deep, unselfish and plays with an attitude. From a talent perspective, there are inside and outside scoring options and our fast break is very good. All that being said, other teams in the conference have upgraded their rosters too. Really want to see how we are competing vs the better teams in the B12. It is fun to watch us play this year. Last night’s W over Florida was particularly enjoyable. We got out to a big lead and we put our boot on their throat till they knew they had no chance. This is a very good team, hopefully good enough to make a deep run in the tournament. Should be a lot of fun seeing how far we can go.

We play at Xavier Saturday. They are a hungry for a win. We will see how we do on the road. But I do think this team is leaps and bounds better than the last couple years.

Looks pretty dominate to me. Stevenson is a Guard. Alexander was a F.

It's so funny. Our basketball teams have been such a mess since JC left that those days feel more like 8 years ago since he left instead of 4. Huggs really struggled with this portal nonsense and the attitude that has come with it. Oscar was toxic thanks to input from a particular former player that was still salty about his time here and it really took a couple years to bounce back.

Watching the Huggs Revenege Tour is going to be fun.

If that tour includes an NCAA tournament game against Kentucky that would be glorious watching Huggs needle him in the media some more. Oscar will try to do too much to show Huggs up and Huggs knows it.
