We put up a tree. Wife hangs stockings and various indoor decorations. Wreath on the front door.

One year early in the marriage when we were poor, she insisted “we” aka “me” hang a bunch of outdoor lights. I begrudgingly obliged. All it took was one electric bill to convince her to never do that again. We could afford it now, but it never gets brought up.

My living room looks like a damn Pottery Barn Christmas ad. The tree was put up November 15th. The fiancee decorated before we hosted Thanksgiving.. I have to hand it to her, she's top notch in decorating and home decor.

I haven't done outdoor lights since buying the house, but I'm gonna try this year. I have old 2-prong outlets outside that I really don't trust, so gonna give battery powered lights a go. Two strands for railings and a $40 "lantern" style santa. I'll start there and decide if I want to expand. I hate ladders though.. idk how people put up lights and take them down every year.

We used to decorate. Lights on the house, lights on the big spruce tree out back, two Christmas trees (basement one was small with stuff our daughter made), knick-knacks in most rooms. One year I put lights on our kid's swing set. We haven't been in the mood to do it the past few years since our daughter died. Sometimes I think I'd like to see some of it out, but I haven't found the time or energy for it yet.

We get a real tree. My family always did and we continued it after I got married. This weekend I guess. Pain to get it and put it up but I’m always glad we went to the trouble after it’s up. Otherwise nothing out and not a single present bought.

Wreath on the front door and a fake tree. When all the kids were home we went all out. I'm getting older and really don't have the energy much anymore to do all the stuff we used to do

Sorry to hear that. When my brother died my folks skipped a couple years then started decorating again. That was 30 yrs ago, and although it’s simple, momma always put out things that reminds us of him.

Two trees, bunch of stuffed reindeer and Santas, lights on the bush (LOL) and the house (this weekend), SpongeBob inflatable which has seen better days. And a very expensive Nativity set, which I’m sure Jesus would approve of.

Remember: If you put the replica 8lb 6oz newborn infant Jesus in the manger prior to Christmas morning (or before 12:01 am in an approved time zone at the very earliest) then it shall be considered fraudulent according to the Council of Trent accords.

My house is fully decorated inside and out. I too am losing the energy to do it but once it’s up it’s beautiful and I am glad we did it. Plus I have two little grandsons now and it makes it special for them. I had great Christmases growing up so I always wanted my sons to have that too and now the grandsons. 🎄🎄

My least favorite thing is tearing down all the stuff, especially packing away the ornaments. So, pro move here, I get up early one morning, pull all the ornaments off the tree and put them on the couch, and put all the big things away before everyone else wakes up. Then I take a nap while they do all the other stuff.

Modestly. Fake tree, a few scattered house decorations, and a couple strings of outdoor lights. I don't believe in decorating before just about now or later. No way is any time in Nov Christmas season regardless of what retailers say.

As the only male in the house, I am fortunate to have two daughters that love to decorate for Christmas and well as my wife. My only job is dragging the stuff from the attic and placing the star on top of the fake flocked tree. I’ll have an ice cold Miller Lite and watch them work their magic maybe two or three Miller Lites but who’s counting 🍺

My best memories of Christmas as a kid were big bubble lights on the tree.
One set of grandparents had those on an artificial tree that had fiberglass snow on it. The other grandparents used the big screw in bulbs that got as hot as the sun on a cedar tree from the farm. I was always burned or picking invisible splinters out of my hands every Christmas.

We have a nativity display in the front yard. I keep it simple and to the point.

I grew up with a mom that would decorate her house like the Griswolds if she could, and a dad that would banish Christmas decorations to another dimension if he could. Compromise is the key :)

Real trees are expensive this year. $65-$100 for a dead tree from walmart

Got one a lowes yesterday for $80. Actually looked pretty good. I was raised in southeast Ky. My step dad and I would go up in the mountains and find one. Can’t beat free.

Battery operated outdoor lights might be the way to go.. works very well so far. I grabbed an Amazon Basics battery pack with a charger. So I can hot swap them pretty quick. Both the light strands and Snowman are on 6 hour timers.. so when you turn them on, they're on for 6 and then shut off. Perfect timing, to go from 5pm to 11pm. Lights also have like 8 light modes.

The only think I'm waiting to see is how often the batteries need to be changed.. if it's anything less than a week, that would suck. But even then, you're only changing them 4 or 5 times, and it takes 5 min.
