Unlike all of my friends and family, I don't like anything about it. At all. I hate making anything more complicated than a salad.

I also don't like cooking shows except for the occasional episode of Man vs. Food that's set in or close to Kentucky.

I kinda like baking. I watch all of those baking shows so I always try my hand at some stuff around the holidays. I made some cupcakes that looked like turkeys and pilgrim hats for Thanksgiving and made a Santa cake for Christmas.

I enjoy cooking quite a bit. We’re currently in the planning stage of a kitchen remodel. I’m sure I’ll enjoy cooking even more when this dual-fuel bad boy is installed this spring. Five burner gas cook top, and two zone convection electric oven.

I've been cooking for Cracker Barrel for 11 years been cooking for myself since I was 8 or 9. It's just not really a big deal anymore. I've could learn different foods of different nations but that's the time I don't have.
I enjoy slow cooking my food still, got a couple nice grills so when I do cook it's a easy and food bout cooks it's self. Nothing worse than people who like to barbecue but don't know what the hell thier doing or when thier food is done.

I love to eat so I like to cook. Get's made my way. My caveat is that we have agreement that I cook she cleans up after. Works out very well with me.
This is me. I’ll cook and clean a little while cooking to stay organized but I’m not doing the after dinner clean up and put food away stuff

It's a hobby of mine. Never was much for it until I got into grilling, so I could have an excuse to day drink. Once I learned how to use a chef knife and got the hang of eyeballing ingredients, i.e. not using measuring cups, etc., I really started to enjoy it.

Nowadays, I plan at least a few meals that require a little prep and involve new ingredients to learn about. Cooking is a great couple activity/date night too. Not a fan of baking tho, and I doubt I ever will. Being that precise doesn't appeal to me.

I love grilling and smoking. Cooking on the stove not so much.

no grill or smoker where I live (except a foreman that I haven't used in years). I loved it when I had a grill. I lived in an apartment that had a huge courtyard. We were allowed to have a grill as long as we didnt' use it next to the buildings. I just had a $20 charcoal grill I bought at wal mart. Every saturday I'd bring it out to the middle of the courtyard, light that bad boy up, sit and drink some beer while those coals lit up, and then grilled my food. Then some new scum company bought the complex and made everyone get rid of their grills.

Now I just have a cast iron skillet and a stove. i love cooking steaks on that thing

I learned to cook as a kid because I hated warmed up leftovers which was the only thing available at my house after late sports practices. It served me well over the years. The best compliment that I ever got was at cookout in college. A girl who had never shown any interest in me told me that my burgers were orgasmic. Yes, she dropped her panties for me later that night. That was all the encouragement that I needed to keep cooking.

I love cooking. When I was young, I asked my dad for a fried bologna sandwich. He took me in the kitchen and showed me how to make it, so from there on, I pretty much knew to fend for myself. I worked through college at various small, local sports bars as a cook, man those were good times!

Love to cook as well. Actually find it relaxing, even a stress releaser in a way.

Since I reside in KY I like to do my own BBQ with spring around the corner 60 Lbs of chicken in the freezer I'm thinking its gonna smell good on my road all spring.
Alot of people wanna buy there weekend dinners I been trying to do Sunday dinner for those of us in my circle so we all have something to look forward to at the end of the week. Tough year last year and it's a good way to stay close to your loved ones,I usually send a text Saturday saying hey Sunday dinner this week let me know if you will be around. Cooking for a living and cooking for the family has become a way of life never considered it to be a woman's job or a inconvenience, luv it when you see your friends and family sit down to a dinner with a game on or sum good music and White Owl full of purp.
Sure we all can list favorites later in the thread but here in SCKY BBQ chicken with the country sides on the grill, grow my corn and cabbage so grilling and cooking is actually fun.Add mix drinks and crank the music, damn can't wait to see 60 degrees gonna kiss the ground when it turns green.

Free if you really want it. Can't promise that you will get the same reaction.

1 lb ground chuck
1-2 tablespoons ketchup and mustard each
Several dashes of Worcestershire and Teriyaki sauces
Garlic salt and black pepper to taste
1-2 tablespoons dried minced onions (absorbs juices during cooking)

Mix ingredients into 1/3 pound patties. Grill over charcoal. After the first flip, brush on your favorite BBQ sauce. Top with cheese for the final minute or so of cooking. Enjoy..

Love it.

Growing up, dad was a gourmet chef and mom could eff up a cake mix or can of soup. So pops cooked and mom cleaned up most nights.

I got my dad’s skills. My wife is also an excellent cook. I love trying out new recipes and having them turn out well. I also like to tweak recipes that have potential but were missing something in its original form.

Absolutely. Too cold and snowy to grill tonight. In the midst of two 8oz filets, seared on stainless steel with butter, garlic and rosemary, 450° for 16 minutes....delicious.

I have started to enjoy it over the past year or so.

Sounds great. Use worcestershire sauce with our every time.

I might add egg occasionally as well....mix and then patty.

Couple things I have found with burgers.

1. Invest in a flat top to put on grill if you don't have one in kitchen.

2. If you have leftovers reheat the burger in boiling water if you didn't put cheese on it. Closest thing to fresh off the grill that you can do.

I do enjoy it. I can do mostly aything on the grill/smoker but am limited in the kitchen. I can do simpler things like spaghetti, bacon and eggs, casseroles, etc. but anything other than that is tough.

I'm still working on my spice recognition i.e. what spices would go well in certain dishes. Besides oregano, basil, and other common ones, I'm lost.

Even if they have cheese on them I put them in bowl of water, about 1/4-1/2 of patty, and zap it in the microwave. Amazing how moist it stays and how much of the grill flavor you get.

Speaking of, I once dated a girl that worked at some restaurant in Eastern Ky that cooked all of their burgers in a cast iron skillets filled with water. Delicious

I don't understand how someone could HATE cooking. I get not being a fan of it, but who doesn't love even basic cooking like eggs or steak, which takes minimal effort, and is delicious? It's also not that difficult. Sometimes its nice to create something with just 4 ingredients in a half hour.

I don't particularly enjoy cooking for other people, mostly because of lack of confidence.. and I also don't love when too many things are going at once.

There used to be a joint in my town called the stag bar that kept their burger patties in water on a steam table. i remember thinking how disgusting that looked, but changed my mind after trying one. they had polish sausage sandwiches too which they kept in water too. very tasty. can’t find joints like that anymore.

A smashburger sauce I came across the other day was killer:

3 tablespoons Mayo
2 tablespoons Ketchup
1 tablespoon Garlic Whole-grained Mustard
1 tablespoon Sweet Relish
1 tablespoon Truff Sauce

Added a little mayo on the buns to toast 'em, salt and pepper on the beef prior to smashing, and cooked up some onions and mushrooms as toppings. Shew wee.
