I work in the pet industry and the first big meeting I ever had with all the suits at Kroger in Cincinnati we put a big dish of our new dog treats right in the center of the conference table.
Didnt tell anyone they were treats and the Kroger people ate almost everyone of them while we were working thru the presentation.
At the end of the presentation we revealed that the cookies they were eating were in fact the same treats that we were pitching to get into the stores.
They looks we got spanned from terror to total amusement.
Then we explained that they were basically just sugar free vanilla wafers for dogs, and totally consumable by humans though we didnt market them as such.
.So after they all got their bearings, they wound up taking the product for the stores..
