Do you have a beard? When did you grow it?

Had a red and brown beard in my 30s. Grew another in my 50s and I looked like an old goat. Completely white. Never again.

I occasionally have a beard. Usually it happens when I notice that I haven’t shaved for a week or so. I did grow a three-month beard this year without trimming after I found out my school was eliminating my position and I would be moving elsewhere. A co-worker called it my “F it” beard, one you grow when it just doesn’t matter anymore.

yes, gray and black, when covid hit, I didn't shave and began day drinking. Didn't everyone grow a beard including female BWI posters?

It depends how we define a beard. I have not given myself a truly clean shave with a razor in years. 1 - 2 times per week I clipper down my whiskers with no guard on the trimmer, so my stubble gets cropped very close but never completely disappears.

Unfortunately, Never. I'm 51 and still don't get any facial hair on my cheeks and the rest is sporadic. So when I tried to grow it our for a week it looked like I had dirt spots on my face.

Probably about 4 or 5 years after getting married. Went back and forth between full and goatee in the earlier years. In my late 50s now and keep the goatee so it looks like I have a chin.

Me. Except this week I shaved down to skin. I have crappy skin from those days of tanning in 70’s and 80’s - better to hide it some.

I am about to hit 60, full head of dark hair with almost no grey/white (my only super power). However, when I grow a beard it is 60-75% grey/white. Weird

Same here - never even tried since I knew it would look stupid.

That is what I call a summer beard, some are here and some are there.

Off and on for 30 years. However, never fully grown except one time. It's too damn hot in front of a forge. I grew a full beard for the 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg in 2013 for the reenactment. I rode one day at the very beginning of the battle under the command of Brigadier General John Buford on day one.

I couldn't wait to shave that itchy bastard off. I do a lot of reenactments as a camp cook for my friends. It's my favorite part to do, and I don't have to wear anything but Union pants and a white shirt.

I used to grow one every deer hunting season, but I stopped when it came in mostly gray. I grew one last year for fun and it was all white….shaved that off pretty quickly.

I grew one once for a stage production. It looked okay, but, like yours, my was itchy. The things I could do to reduce the itch took more time than I wanted to invest long term.

I always grew a beard for turkey and deer hunting season at our family house up in Sullivan County up the street from Hoagland Branch. Hunting Bear Mtn and Middle Mtn for many many years. Always shaved it off after 10 -12 days up there before going home. Too itchy... drove me nuts.
