Do you think the freshman big men this year are severely underperforming?

I mean, besides Simmons, Skal, Stone, and etc. have not impressed me.

What is your thoughts?

Maybe I am just thinking in comparison to Jahlil Okafor and some of the others who have come before, but, man, it seems like a huge drop off.

What are your guys' thoughts?

Okafor was a once in a decade player. But to answer your question, Simmons has been a great all around talent but is not really a big man type. As for Skal and Stone, they haven't been playing as expected and it just shows you how hard it is to dominate as a freshman big man.

Most of these kids or not physically developed yet. The Ellenson kid at Marquette and Tyler Davis at Texas AM have both been impressive but do not get the touches they deserve or need. Really wish Ellenson ended up at Duke this year, but Wojo needed him more.

I think BIG LUKE MAYE would dominate if it weren't for BIG KENNEDY MEEKS dominating in front of him. The real question is will BIG LUKE MAYE be better as a soph than BIG KENNEDY MEEKS was as a soph. OFC

Like, even Simmons who is being dominant, isn't really pushing the needle with wins either.

In fact, I would almost go to say almost the entire class of freshman is looking pretty subpar in comparison to the last couple of years. A few gems here and there, but not many.

Ingram had a hell of a game versus Indiana. Maybe I am being premature writing off this freshman class in comparison to the last two. We will see. Diallo had a decent game too.

Two things about this year's freshman class....1) it's just not as good as some of the classes before it, and 2) a lot of the top players picked some non-traditional schools.

The class as a whole is lacking, but Simmons has shown me as much as any freshman recently. He's a stud and future all-NBA'er. Absolutely love his game.

Simmons is a special player. This classes overall talent level isn't that great now. But the potential is there. Kids like Tyler Davis and Henry Ellenson who seem to have all potential, but they just dont get the touches. I think Ellenson would have been awesome at Duke. Atleast he is Wojo.
