Does 20-13 (10-8) get NU to NIT? What about 19-14 (9-9)?

Not sure NU wins its games against MSU or Michigan. Maryland on the road will be tough. Every other game is winnable with the way they’ve played as of late.

So, what’s the cutoff for an NIT bid? Does NU have to finish 6-2 in the last 8 and win a game in the BTT to go 20-13? Can they go 5-3, finish .500 in conference and win a BTT game to get in?

Or, is the conference just so weak, and NU’s noncon resume so mediocre, that the bar is set even higher?

(obviously go 1-0 each game etc etc but the offense looked so pitiful against Michigan and I need something to root for. And we’re getting very close to the point where it’s win the Big Ten Tournament or bust for a tourney berth)

The NIT for Power Conference schools has become a landing place for unsuccessful NCAA bubble teams, given the automatic bids for one-bid regular season champions who lose their tournament. NU is not going to get an NIT bid given their complete lack of quality wins this season.

Yeah, and there could be five Big Ten teams in the NIT this year, considering only four or maybe five conference teams are likely going to the NCAA Tournament.

Currently there is only one BIG team even in sniffing distance of the NIT (Maryland).

Never, ever give up on the Wildcats! If Ash plays thirty minutes a game, we run the table and win two BT Tournament games! I know it! Collins man crush on Mac is over! it is Jordan Ash time!
