Nail on the head.
For the NCAA's sake, I hope the UNC fans are wrong (or do I)?
Kansas got away with Arthur, because Ms. McFarland (or whoever) in some TX high school gave him a grade that was questioned. The NCAA has no jurisdiction over a TX high school, and so it didn't look behind the grade.
UNC, an NCAA member institution, engaged in institutionalized academic fraud for over 20 years. The NCAA has jurisdiction over UNC. If the NCAA chooses to look the other way, its credibility will be right where UNC's currently is.
The reason I said "(or do I)" above, is that the NCAA is simply corrupt in its enforcement. The NCAA can either get it right here or suffer what I hope and assume the consequences will be. I'd like to see 4 or 5 conferences just split off. If it appears that I hate the hypocrisy of the NCAA, that's because I do.
