In February of each year the Longhorn fans are completely enamored by the quality of their terrific new recruits, yet in September through November they moan about having to go against teams with better athletes. How does that work, exactly?

I think it's freaking hilarious! As we used to say around here, Coach February = Mack Brown. :D

You can have a lot of good athletes, but you better have a quarterback, and your staff better have evaluated the difference between talent and good football players. The former doesn't guarantee the latter. Texas recruiting evaluation hasn't been great recently.

OUs recruiting evaluation hasn't been exactly stellar in recent years either. Especially at QB. Which is why a walk-on transfer won the job this year.

Yep, and it's raising its ugly head in current recruiting.
For the 2016 class, Texas has 9 guys verbally committed when generally they'd have 15 or 16 by now.

Well, to give that shocking number some perspective...OU has ten lined up to sign LOIs.

Billy Ray, now that the season is started I get the same impression from you, over and over. When somebody points out something about the Longhorns that is less than stellar, you become a UT apologist. Often, you do it while tossing in a bashing of OU, flagrant or subtle. Some of each.

And when somebody says something positive about the Sooners, you toss out all kinds of negatives about OUr guys. Are you sure you're not really a Longhorn fan?

And you say this about BR every year. Do you really think he is a Ut fan? Or just letting everyone know that you know more about football and OUr the biggest OU fan ever?

And I get the impression that some on here enjoy bashing on shortcomings of other schools/programs, yet stick their heads in the sand when the own program they love has the same issue. Don't come on here and post like a hypocrite. I won't say anything else about another schools team that I'm not afraid of holding OU to the same scrutiny as well. I dont hold other programs like UT or other rivals to a different standard than I do OU. I choose not to be a hypocrite. You and some others on this board have trouble dealing with that sort of reality.

You say I only respond with negativity when people posts something good about OU. That is a complete lie. Or maybe you don't pay attention to others posts as well as you think. When there is something good to say about OU, then I'm all for it. But I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and sunshine pump when there is nothing to base it on. I will speak my mind about OU football....the good AND the bad.

I enjoy coming on here and talking about aspects of the OU football program. If you don't like when I inject comparisons to OU football when you pop off about making fun of Texas, then that's too bad. Don't make comments if you don't think OU doesn't have the same issue. Because if the say both have comparable issues, then you can't make fun of one without making fun of both.

Somehow, you still seem to defend Texas frequently. That has nothing to do with your bashing of OU coaches so consistently. Somebody says the same thing about Texas coaches after a five touchdown loss, and you seem to view that as an opportunity to bash OU coaches after a more than five touchdown win.

Curious.

First off, how have I defended Texas in this thread? Don't just make something up like you pulled it out of your rear and try to prop it up as the truth.

And hell yes I have been critical of OU coaches in recent years. And the fact that Bob Stoops has nearly 100% remade his staff over the last few seasons points towards my being critical of his past assistants as having legitimacy. Much more legitimacy by the way, than your claim that I am defending Texas.

Delusions of grandeur fueled by a huge amount of unearned arrogance, with a sprinkle of myopic nearsightedness.
Mental midget Sorry Charlie is coaching the whorns to a new level of sucksess. The whorn fan boys deserve every bit of laughter they get.

OU's fired scrub is now calling their plays. That's comedy from any perspective. Sorry Charlie publicly stated he wanted a do over. I want Coach Suckness to be at the Textanic for years to come.

Yeah, horn is favored by 16 over the ferocious Rice Owls.

Remember the days of yore when they'd be favored by 21?:D

I admit I'm not huge on constantly bashing and bashing Texas. I don't love them by any means. But I enjoy spending my time talking about OU football, not Texas football. Heck after last Saturday OU opened the 2015 season and we had a fresh game to talk about out Sooners. But this board looked more like Orangebloods since there seemed to be more threads about how Texas lost instead of talking about how our Sooners looked.
Good thing for CC I did most of my reading over there about the good and bad about OUs first game.

Constantly talking about another program just gives them more credit than they deserve. Kinda like when OSU fans are more concerned with our losses than their win.

I suppose, and to my chagrin there are two kinds of OU fans.
The first fan will make a post, and go with me on this, something like this:

"Wow, can you believe our QB? He threw for 520 yards, five TDs, ran for two TDs and rushed for 160 yards in beating our most hated foe 63 to 17. Awesome performance!"
(Now, you'd hope that this would set a tone, a feelgood story line everyone would rally to)

Then you have the other kind of OU fan. Here's what he would seize upon.

"Well, glad we won the game but, our QB did throw those two interceptions, he's got to tighten that crap up!"

See, it's just a buzz kill, and totally unnecessary.

Choose which type of fan you want to be. Makes no difference to me, and I don't think one type of fan is anymore or less an OU fan than the other. But, in regards to your little comparison there, don't you think the QB, Riley, and Bob Stoops may want to evaluate what happened on those 2 INT's to identify what went wrong to improve and prevent it from happening again?? It's going to get mentioned in reviewing film and worked on in practice. So since no doubt that happens, what's wrong with fans making mention of the same thing?? Besides, in such an overwhelming dominant performance that you are talking about, I doubt even the more negative OU fan would solely focus on the 2 INT's.

Horn fans just get under my skin, whether they do it deliberately or not. They are arrogant, spiteful, rude, and feel entitled to everything just because they are Texas. I will always hope they go winless every season and will enjoy every moment of agony and depression they are in despite what the Sooners are doing. I support the Big 12, but I will never support the horns....Ever! I've already been banned on OB again because of a gutless mod with no sack, that lets TEXAS posters get away with murder yet bans outsiders with a different opinion. The proof is in the pudding. As far as I'm concerned, the entire state should be swallowed by a sinkhole.

How the mighty have fallen. From a national championship appearance to a team barely above .500 since. The misery of longhorn fans is funny. I remember how Charlie F'n Strong was going to bring a new attitude to the 40. He sure accomplished that. Straight up sucksess. There are a few bootlickers left on OB, but most stopped licking the boot last week and are in total despair.

I will say this...myself and the Arkansas fans at work have teamed up to give the Texas fans at work a pretty rough time. The Arkansas guys here I think are loving it even more than the OU fans.

I got Texas over Rice. All though many experts are warning it. I just cant see it happening. Rice is ranked #82 and playing at Austin.

That would be like expecting a N. Texas win over us during a rebuilding season at OU

No, you're right, if I had a 44 magnum at my head and had to bet it, I'd go with the horns.
You'd just have to.
Common sense.

I think Strong is just the wrong fit at Texas. A good guy at that cutthroat University no Bueno.
