Does Anyone Else Not Even Watch These Type Games Anymore?

I didn’t watch the game tonight solely because I expected to lose and wasn’t going to spend 2 hours raising my blood pressure being pissed. I started doing this with Cal around the Covid year. Any game I expected to lose, which is basically any top 25 matchup or conference road game, I wouldn’t watch. If we happened to win then I’d watch the replay.

i actually got out of that habit last year after Duke and Gonzaga but by the end of the year I was back to doing it. Didn’t see a minute of the tournament loss to Tennessee. Only saw the first 10 minutes of the UL game.

In the past I would never have dreamed of missing a game. Maybe getting older has made me realize to not waste time on things that infuriate me. Does anyone else do this?

I turned it on late and ended up regretting it. I'm done until they put together a significant winning streak, which looks like it might not be until next year or until after Pope leaves.

Pope is not the type of man I would follow across any battlefield.

I’ve been numb since the Auburn game in 2019. Virgina had no business winning that title. It felt like it was Kentucky’s to lose. I had hope last year but the blowouts to Alabama and then Tennessee made me realize Pope probably wasn’t going to work out.

I’ll be honest, I don’t even think getting rid of Pope will help if Barnhart is in charge of the next coaching hire. It has to be exciting like the way Calipari in 2009 was. And I don’t know who would excite me. Maybe Donovan or Oats?

I’m terrified that we don’t a Mike Pratt figure to batten down the hatches like when BCG was an utter failure and he and the boosters managed to hire Calipari over our jackass of an AD. The program is like a headless chicken and I don’t know how long I want to keep watching it squirm.

Direct correlation between my net worth and how much I care about Kentucky basketball. A loss like this would’ve had me in shambles in 2012 (good thing we were so good back then). I feel absolutely nothing after this loss, can’t bring myself to care about this team. Being broke as **** is actually kinda fun. Figuring out how to survive on $20 for a week, hittin licks, going on “missions”, hooking up w/ other random broke people and embracing their crazy. More pressure and expectations now. I’m certain age is also a factor.
