Urlacher was on the Bears pre-game the other day. Sounds like he is enjoying himself.
Urlacher's ability to drop deep into that middle zone and play like a safety was exceptional. And Urlacher's speed gave him incredible range across the field. Paddy is not that type of player, though I think he might be a bit better in taking on blocks (Urlacher played safety in college, and thus was not developed as well in this area). You could block Urlacher if you could square him up, but he was so nimble and big that if you only got a piece of him, he could still make a play.
The linebacker role has changed so much. Ro Smith is 225 pounds soaking wet, but his speed makes him an impact player and a real force in today's game. You just don't see a lot of guys playing above 240 often, unless they are freakish athletes like Bobby Wagner or Demario Davis.

I'm not convinced he's 230, but, yes, he's a crazy athlete, and he's typical of many playmaking LBs in today's game: smaller, but lightning fast.Smith was 236 at the Combine and is now listed at 230. He's just a phenomenal athlete.
