Sure. Luck always plays a role. (We were lucky Jimmy Johnson thought he had the 1987 Fiesta Bowl won before the opening kickoff.)Even with Scheffler in the PGA, it's always wiser to take the field. Penn State is going to compete, but its going to take a fair bit of luck to be the last standing.
No, if we come out on top of the tournament, someone else will lose it!I think, YES!
If no, why not?

Just to clarify for the layman, this refers to betting odds. The implied odds give us about a 10-11% chance of winning it all. That sounds about right to me.
I think he means percentage at this time, given the current rosters. That percentage will change depending on injuries amongst many other factors.I don't know how you settle on a percentage when 1 injury (in a collision sport) can wipe out any realistic chance.
My thought is get to the playoffs, relatively healthy, then perhaps a % would be interesting.
In a vig-free world, yes. But they are holding upwards of 20% of the Futures pool.Just to clarify for the layman, this refers to betting odds.
I'm seeing +633 and +700 at betonline and bookmaker. Would that be closer to 13-15%?
Yes, I'm removing some vig for a more realistic number. In a vig-free world, yes. But they are holding upwards of 20% of the Futures pool.
I was going off of Pinny's +706...but thinking more, they're not taking 20% off the top (as you know, their margins are much, much smaller than the squarer books). Maybe they are more like 10%, which would put it more in the 12-13% range (and if I'm wrong on the 10%, bump it up a tad more, but I know they take more out of futures than straight bets).Yes, I'm removing some vig for a more realistic number.
The only person who absolutely can't get injured is Allar. If he goes down, so do our hopes.I'll give a 20% chance of winning it all.
Factors are injuries to top players both on PSU and their opponents .
Players or teams that are presently rated high, or teams that sneak up on the CFB scene. Most of you already know that, but it's been a long time since Penn State has been this loaded offensively 94.
I'll add to that. I think we have all the pieces in place to win it, and it will largely depend on if Allar makes the improvements he needs to. As Coach Kotelnicki said those 1% jumps in many aspects of his game. I think he will. And as you said if he goes down, so do our hopes because I think he will be that good this year (along with just enough WR improvement this season). The only person who absolutely can't get injured is Allar. If he goes down, so do our hopes.
I just saw this title to a video on espn’s “college” football () page:
“Paul Finebaum: James Franklin will find some way to 'screw this season up'”

I have no idea why anybody wastes their time listening to these clowns who like to hear themselves talk. Finebaum, Russo, Cowherd, Pate, etc. Who the f cares what they think? They get paid to create controversy and conversation.I just saw this title to a video on espn’s “college” football () page:

As far as the "if no, why not?" part of this, the correct answer would be: because the odds are against it, just as they are against any individual team.I think, YES!
If no, why not?

That would be a disappointing outcome, I think.PSU will make it to the final 4 but won’t make it to the championship.
I come here to see what clowns think... and they don't get paid!I have no idea why anybody wastes their time listening to these clowns who like to hear themselves talk. Finebaum, Russo, Cowherd, Pate, etc. Who the f cares what they think? They get paid to create controversy and conversation.

I’d say you’re giving way too much credit/blame to a position coach.5%. With the same WR coach why would anyone think the team will get better production from that group?
Agree 5%. I think we lose to OSU and IOWA will be tough the week after. We could lose that one? Down the stretch the young talented teams will mature and depth on defensive will hurt us. And James .......5%. With the same WR coach why would anyone think the team will get better production from that group?
90% chance to make playoffsSo you’re 100% on PSU winning it all?
Me: 50%. We make the championship game.
It is difficult to get the ND performance by the WR out of my mind with zero catches for -1yd. This for a position group that until the arrival of Coach Hagans was putting players into the NFL regularly. Yes I blame the position coach for the dramatic drop off in WR performance.I’d say you’re giving way too much credit/blame to a position coach.
