The top four all won their games, but...
Clemson did not look overly great as the GameCocks gave them a very good game.
Bama won, but ran, ran, ran their Heisman candidate.
Iowa played to win and they did, but against a weaker opponent although it was on the road.
OU, kicked ***, against a rival, ranked pretty good, and did so on the road.

Clemson may drop to #3
Bama to #1
OU to #2
Iowa remains the same @ #4.

That is a Good Scenario! As 22 and I discussed, earlier...Any of the Top 3 Spots are Great for us and all insure that we play in the Dallas/FW Area...#4, we don't want. We'd have to travel to Miami and, although OUr Team would probably love that, there would be a much smaller group of Fans who'd make that trip, with the idea of following it up with Glendale. Arlington is ALMOST Home Field Advantage, with the crowd that we'd have @ Jerry World...

I think the comittee is going to want OU at 2.

Will be easier to justify playing them in dallas if they are higher seed.

Or let OU fall to 4 after next weekend aamd send them to Miami.

If you look at who Iowa has played to go 12-0...you almost have to laugh. The two teams of any merit Iowa beat so far are Northwestern & Wisconsin....in the weak *** "Legends" division. I would put Michigan State in the Playoff ahead of Iowa. Hope the Big 10 Championship exposes their soft and underserving 12-0 underbelly.

Most of the country didn't believe OU had the right to be on the same field as Florida State in 2000. It's something to go undefeated regardless of competition. It doesn't happen often.

It's true JCon in our instance; we survived KSU when Bill's team was at it's finest, twice! Iowa will/won't earn the same 'status' as we did IF they make it to the party. Most of us don't think they will. If they do I'd be thrilled to draw them in the semi final in Dallas.

According to a little research, undefeated "regular" seasons have happened 12 times at OU; 2 or perhaps 3 for iowa so yeah it's a pretty big deal I suppose.

If Iowa can get by Mich St & win the Big 10, I think they might be the team to beat. They play solid defense, they have a good QB, they play penalty free ball. and they're not all banged up. Add to this, they're not getting recognized as an undefeated team, so they will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. They also appear to playing their best football as they approach their Champ game. Their strengths seem to be their D & O lines. They've been winning in the trenches. Having said this, they appear to not have a lot of speed as a team. They somewhat remind me of the Irish team that came into Norman and left w/ a W a few years back. That team made it the Natty game but was crushed.

It's going to be nice that we get to it sit back this weekend and watch some good football and future opponents. Feels good to be honest!

Florida State beat the SEC East champ badly. Clemson may have beaten their instate rival by only five, but they did beat them. I suspect they looked past them a little.

Clemson has two patsy games in the first two on their schedule; When I hear Jeff Long tell us that 12-1 is better than 11-1, I think it should be 10-1 isn't as good as 11-1 when two of your twelve are blowout wins over Wolford and Appalachian State. But Clemson isn't 11-1. They were 12-0 and they have wins over Notre Dame and a good Florida State team. And if they best UNC, they will have three very good wins on an otherwise pretty lame schedule. But it's not like Kansas and Akron victories are anything to brag about.

We won't be ranked ahead of Clemson this week and despite my belief that Bama is overrated, they also have the most national clout of anybody these days just because they are from the SEC and will likely slaughter the toothless Gators this weekend.

But I didn't think we'd be three last week, though I did expect us to be four. So you may be right. But I think the only way OU moves ahead of either Bama or Clemson is if they get beat. And passing Bama really doesn't mean anything unless they drop past three, because if it's two three, that's no different than being three two.

But I would love it if UNC beat Clemson this weekend, especially if Iowa upsets Michigan State.

I think there is a good chance we are #2 this week. I do not think we will jump Clemson since they are undefeated, but we could jump Alabama since we both have 1 loss and we are a conference champion already. I don't think it will matter since next week I think they would jump us if they beat Florida. The 1 thing I worry about is if Iowa beats MSU and wins out they could jump us and knock us down to #4 sending us to Miami.
