This is insane. Hell yes it pisses me off. I mean zero common sense here. And most cops are grade A *******'s. They are beyond arrogant and act like they are immune to laws. Cops always there when you don't need them and never around when you do

I'm always one to defend cops against social backlash which is normally way off base, like the Michael Brown situation. This is a case of a bunch of cops being complete and total idiots. I've run into my fair share of cops on an unnecessary power trip. While I dont believe for a second they are running around looking for black people to shoot, there are a ton of total Dbags in blue.

Several of my class in high school became cops. It seems they were either truly fine people who wanted to serve others or the type that I had trouble believing they didn't have a felony conviction yet. I'm very supportive and try to be helpful in general but I still avoid them if possible.

I support all the cop stuff except the shop with a cop thing. Cop's not going to be making it rain in Walmart with my money and getting on TV for it. I'm an Angel Tree man.

Yes. Because if that’s me and not a young black man the cops don’t even think bird **** on my hood is cocaine. They think it’s bird **** because I’m white am obviously up to something good.

The article stated they did a field test on it and it came back as cocaine. What do you think a cop is gonna do if that happens?
The charges were dropped after a lab tested it.

Why did the cops test bird **** off of the hood of his car? Also, why does their field test return inaccurate results?

Doesn't seem super realistic that if this kid had powder cocaine on his hood and was driving around and caught speeding that powder cocaine would still adhere to the car after driving.

Seems like they need a new field kit at the minimum

You don't have any evidence to support your bias.

Just like with any profession, there are really good people, really average people, and really bad people.

The thing that’s missing in this case is how can you charge someone with cocaine possession before you actually know what it is?

Guy got pulled over for speeding. First mistake. People should be allowed to drive at any speed they feel comfortable. Stupid, power-hungry, money grubbing cops just harassing the public. Cops saw something they regarded as suspicious. Field tested it and mistakenly concluded it was cocaine. Arrested him like they would have anyone else possessing cocaine. At station, retested it and discovered it was not cocaine. After beating the poor kid, just because he was black, they sent him away to prison for several years.

Oh, wait. You say they retested the substance, just to make sure, and learned that a mistake had been made and then released the guy???????? Lousy SOBs.
