It's been a few years since i've been to a game at the DonRey. I used to park in the far north lots along Harvard.

Are these lots still non-donor parking? Can someone recommend better parking options? (closest, easy entry/exit, etc...)

I am pretty fimilar with campus streets and buildings.

Thanks

Pretty much all campus parking is donor parking now. There are a lot of newer buildings where you mentioned, so less parking and that's why it's all donor. If you stay further west and north, you may get lucky but I wouldn't bet on it. Safer bet is to park near old F&M bank (now Prosperity) or in one of the fast food places if they are selling parking. They had a shuttle from bank recently.

The whole basketball parking situation is such a mess right now, Uber isn't a bad idea. Park your car on Cherry Street or downtown, get some beers, and you won't have as many problems.

If you don't have donor parking my recommendations are the neighborhood streets south of 11th street. Since the Memphis game they've brought cops back to the cross walk at 11th and it's much faster to exit the streets than campus. If you struggle to find parking there's a huge bank parking lot around 13th and Harvard that TU fans commonly park at and there's no fear of being towed there unlike some other businesses lots around the campus.

I had a good visit with one of the young men from the athletic department about the dangers in try to cross 11th Street. I asked him if it was in TU's best interest to hire some police officers to assist the fans in crossing or lose a few fans by having them get run over by an idiot driver. The following week the officers showed up. Every game I make it a point to thank the officers and someone from TU for caring about their fans.

Would love for them to bring back TPD on Harvard.
It's a very poorly lit crosswalk that by the drivers see the sign it's too late to stop.

Thank you for bringing that up to someone Sepp. I also thank the officers, I don't think they hear that often anymore because the officer(s) always seem very gracious hearing the TU fans thank them.

They really need someone at Dobbs and Harvard. It's just a disaster with people without passes trying to park. Traffic gets really slowed down.

Also, it seems like a a lot of employees are parking in the donor spots. Not cool. They at least moved the moving trucks out of way. (Fire lane is legal, right?) I've never seen those types of issues before. Not sure what the story is.

Ditto, Sepp. And we also thank them and hear many fans doing the same thing.

South of 11th is our go to. At most a few blocks of walking and it's a gorgeous day. :)

we park in the donor lots and worry about the folks crossing Harvard at Dobbs. It's really a nightmare and could easily be solved with a part-time officer hired from 6 to 9 PM. I've mentioned it to the Asst AD. I was glad to see an 11th street cop. One more is needed on Harvard.

They had TPD on Harvard up until about 2004.
I think it's justified again.

Good job Sepp ! We also park south of 11th. With a big crowd, we may park ar Prosperity Bank tonight (old F&M). Still not that long of a walk.

It's been a while since we worried about parking for b-ball games. Great to see the TU bandwagon starting to fill up !

TU really, really, really needs a 3 story parking garage where the big Harvard lot is. Put one level underground and it won't be a terrible eyesore.
