I watch a lot of basketball and, despite the disappointing close loses, this team is clearly better than we've had the last several years. PSU and OSU had to play really well to beat them. PSU played lights out down the stretch. Our offense is substantially improved . In particular, the painful scoring droughts are far fewer. And the team is deeper than I've ever seen.

They are going to win some games.

On the one hand, you are correct. Ohio State made 26 of 27 free throws against us. Thats pretty ridiculous. We were 13 of 17. Also, our game plan seemed to be "Just let their best player take open 3 pointers..."

PSU made some sketchy shots, but we also found a way to stop scoring points when we had a sizable lead.

Collins needs to limit his substitutions so he can screw it up less often.

Center: Young, Nance (Nicholson if needed)
PF: Nance, Williams, Beran
SF: Audige (Roper, Simmons to give Audige a rest)
SG: Berry, Buie
PG: Buie, Greer

Keep at least 3 of Young, Nance, Audige, Berry, Buie on floor at all times.
None of this Young, Beran, Simmons, Greer, Roper nonsense.

God love ya, Platino. I can't say that I have your faith, but I share your hope.

Of course they'll win some games, they're not a terrible team or anything. But they need to win at least 7 more conference games just to get over .500 for the year, so they need to win more than "some" if they want to go anywhere in March.

We won one I thought we would lose (at MD) and lost one I thought we would win (PSU), so a wash. Still on track for 10 conference wins pre-BTT in my mind.

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and Turk's basement, but this team at least is competitive and shows fight. Unfortunately, close games always come down to a few plays, and our opponents have more/better players. And I don't know who drew up that inbounds play in OT, but my guess is that it came from the French Army playbook circa 1938. So coaching might be an issue.

As long as they battle and stay close, there is a chance.

Still a wash, but lost 2 and won 2. I hope Nance is back soon.

The D has improved. Rebounding has improved so that we are closer to even. We limit our turnovers. Less sure about the O. I mean even in this win, we shot less than 35% (30-31% from 3) We are a lot deeper which seems to help more on D. We put up a lot more shots than MSU allowing us to score more but not sure you can say that the O has improved that much.
