For those in the wrestling thread, no not Steve Williams.
It's a new mini series on Peacock. I have the premium but I think it's available on the free version. I had never heard the story before but it's about a doctor that purposely botches surgeries and maims his patients. Pretty crazy how he got away with it for 2 years. Only through episode 2 but is pretty entertaining.

It's been a podcast for a few years now. I listened to it sometime last year. Maybe 10 episodes? I can't speak to the show but the podcast will have you saying WTF more times than you can count. Eff that guy.

I need to listen to the podcast. I'm only on episode 3 but I can't tell if he's a sociopath out to kill people or just the most incompetent surgeon ever with no self awareness.

Edit: OK, sociopath.

The podcast never truly drew that line for the listener. I absolutely recommend. A buddy recommended it to me on a whim, and I'm not usually this kind of podcast listener. Pretty much all sports or history stuff. But I gave it a shot and I was blown away that the best case scenario is as you say, the man is just that incompetent and that it was allowed to go on along as it did.

More than anything I came away with an inherent mistrust of hospitals and their bureacracy, which without going down that road, seems somewhat germane in today's America.

I thought Little Bill took care of that guy. I guess he didn't learn his lesson.

Well, I am done watching it and still don't know if he's a killer or just incredibly incompetent with no sense of self awareness.

Edit: it’s late and I thought Duntsch was an ortho spine guy, but he was neuro spine which is even longer residency and fellowship by a couple years.

I’m an OR RN, specializing in orthopedic surgery. I’m amazed that any doc could get through ortho surgery residency and fellowship (6 years total) and work on less than 100 surgeries. Even saying PGY-1 is mostly clinical and not doing much more in the OR than being a retractor holder, I don’t see anyone getting through residency without 1,000 surgeries under their belt, minimum. I can only think this was allowed to happen because he did an MD-PhD program and administrators assumed he was going to focus his career on research?

Agreed podcast was great. Recently listened to another true crime podcast from a former female fbi profiler who examined Dunsch for one of the episodes. Was pretty interesting. Not really any new info just her perspective. Think the podcast is called “killer psyche”.

He was in every definition of the word a sociopath it seems to me. What he did to his best friend and all those people is unfathomable.
