2. Are soundtracks always released on movie day and not Cd day? Odd. I bet they hand you a copy with your 3D goggles. Probably automatically download it to your samsung phone, and give you a rebate in every Dre Beats package.

That's what Mash is going to do. Nothing will be the Chronic, nothing will be 2001.
...and it's not a 'soundtrack', it's a Dr. Dre album inspired by the movie, per Dre himself.
But you can guarantee it will be quality 2015 music. He spent 16 years on Detox before saying "it wasn't good enough", and then deciding on this as his finale, saying "it's bananas"
It will be good to great, no doubt in my mind. Certainly better than 98% of anything that comes out of the genre these days.

CD day is no longer Tuesday. It was moved to Friday starting in January so U.S. fans aren't four days behind the rest of the world, as international release dates always have been on Fridays prior to the U.S. release dates, which enable early leaks for pirates. (ARRRRGGGHHH)
And I'll always check out anything new Dre puts out. As I get older, rap appeals to me less and less, but Dre is one of the legends.

If Kendrick was completely mainstream I would understand that. He did a song with Taylor Swift I get it. but To Pimp a Butterfly was the most off the wall thing I have heard in a long time.

It wasn't announced WEEKS AGO because Dre just announced it on his Podcast, The Pharmacy, on 8-1-15.
CD's are usually released on Tuesday, but nowadays with Apple Music and the 1000 other streaming services you can pretty much release anything whenever you want, especially when you are a Billionaire putting out his first CD in 15 years.

He hopped on a T Swift track if I remember correctly. Got an award on the senate floor and thanked them profusely. Started talking politics and cultural ****. The Dre hype, though. #letsbereal He probably has as much to do with producing this album as Kanye does with "his" albums. More of an endorsement than anything.
