He is an Iowa native....why is he not wrestling / playing football at Iowa next year? The kid is special and could be a 4x champ at heavyweight. Obviously Iowa football is better than Ok State too. Just wondering if he was recruited heavily by Iowa.

I think you’re an AI bot - or an idiot - and are programmed to start a thread daily no matter how stupid the topic.

I'm sure he is going to Penn State if he "could be a 4x champ at heavyweight". Better tell Mirasola.

According to the brackets he had a bye, won by fall in 56 seconds, and another in 41 seconds. He is in the semifinals.

BK was the same level of monster in HS as is Ross. Time will tell... it's a whole different ballgame when you wrestle the big grown men that make up the college weight. BK has found out... Ross will too.
This is why we add a 215/220-ish lb weight class for college..................let the fat offensive linemen cast-offs and guys like Kerkroid for Penn State have their weight class.

Ross is a fair amount better than BK was. Much more athletic and much better shots.
I didn't realize this, but Kueter won his first at 160 and then finished with a pair of titles at 220.

I think Ross is the first 4-timer who started at 195 and finished at HWT. In fact, has there ever been another Iowa 4-timer that won even one of his 4 titles at HWT?

Winning as a freshman/sophomore at 195 is crazy good.

Ben was a good multi sport athlete, but Ross has that smooth quick Ed Ruth like athleticism you rarely see at heavyweight. He’s not going to have a Stevson, Hendrickson, Parris or Kerk type heavy to deal with early in his career. AJ and Feldman going to be the best returning heavyweights and Merrill as a freshman will be like a full grown man heavyweight. Other than that it’s clear sailing next year and after.

I remember Borschel steadily grew throughout his HS career being a 4x champ at weights 103, 125, 152 and 171.
