Unlike this board where everything is coming up roses, right?
If you ever pay attention, a lot of the talking points and dispositions here come from KSR. This is like the bottom of the aquarium. They take their petty disputes and reform them into something that sounds passable to filthy casuals and then drop it down the water and watch as we all take the bait and regurgitate their talking points together. Been trying to systematically explain this to people but you can’t talk facts to the cult of KSR.

I have always said as much crap as they sling, something has to stick at some point.

I’ve heard of gloom and doom but this dude takes the cake. Everything that comes out his mouth about basketball is negative.
He speaks the truth. There is not much to be positive about right now when it comes to basketball. Our recruiting sucks. Three of our starters are injured. Our best player has been the most selfish player so far this season. Pope looked absolutely annihilated after the loss to Michigan State. We got our butts kicked by two ranked teams.

What exactly is positive right now? Seriously. Can you name anything to be positive about right now when it comes to the state of the program that doesn't include baseless hopes and dreams? The results are lacking, and we are an embarrassment with the money that we spent on this roster.

We have a coach that netted us a three seed in the NCAA tournament in year one, despite getting the job late and having less than a full offseason to put a roster together and suffering significant injuries to several players. This season it hasn’t went how we wanted so far, but the numbers suggest we aren’t as bad as we have played. So the program isn’t as bleak as you’re saying although this season so far has stunk. Personally, I’m still not 100% sure Pope is the guy who returns us all the way back but there are reasons to trust, other than simply hope and optimism. Honestly, anyone whether optimistic, pessimistic or anything in between is largely guessing. We simply don’t know, so why not hope?

In basketball? Wanting a championship once a decade at the most prestigious basketball program in the country is asking too much?
This why fans like you are the problem. You’ve become so complacent with losing and mediocrity
We have won less than one championship per decade in our history though, and we have won more than everyone but UCLA. Championships are very, very hard to win. So yes, and my expectations are sky high, one championship per decade is asking too much.

I’ll never agree with that. Asking for one title every 10 years on average should be the absolute bottom standard at UK. Period.

I’ll respect your opinion coz it’s yours. For the record though, we have won 8 in 86 years of NCAAT. So that’s less than 1 in 10 years. By definition, expecting one every ten years, especially since the tournament expanded to 64 teams 51 years ago, is setting yourself up to be disappointed. I sure hope that we do fulfill what you’re asking for but as a fellow fan, I’d ask you to consider that’s asking too much if our unmatched history doesn’t even meet those expectations.

Or at least be in the thick of things like the very best program should be

Mark Pope hasn't been here for a decade. Hes been here 1 year. He inherited 0 players and had a late start and still made it to sweet 16. We are barely into December of season 2. Fans like you are infants.

I went into most games with a positive optimism last year. So far I’ve went into most games with a negative pessimism. It isn’t just Drew, I think that most are extremely disappointed and not really noticed much signs of improvement. It’s only Popes second year and it feels like a late Cal year.

Board was full of optimism/faith in our current College Basketball coach up until around four weeks ago. Just didn't feel like Rupp Rafters...
