Dance, celebrate, rejoice in your Sooner fandom. For we have awaited with baited breath for the Wicked Witch of the West to be officially gone and a new Wicked Witch to arrive.

We'll have time in the near future to complain, nag, and be negative. But today, we shall enjoy!

As long as we can get a tough pass rush going to put some heat on these pocket passers in 2019. Tired of seeing QBs sitting back there in Lazy Boy and torching us. Those days better be way in rear view mirror.

I'm still doing my homework, but it sounds like Grinch's thing is effort, attack and create turnovers.

In the Big XII, points are going to be scored, yards amassed. You offset that by turnovers and negative plays.

Its a start and a long awaited change. The Stoops era is officially over now that both Bob and Mike are both gone and I must say I am excited that hopefully OU can get back to playing great defense. If the Offense can be as good as it is and has been then there is no reason for the defense to not be held to the same standards and be allowed to excel. The sky is the limit, we have seen hell.

I see 2019 as OU's transition year when considering 4 years of great quarterbacking have ended and a new DC will have to bring huge cultural changes to OU's defense (which won't happen overnight) and the coaching staff, aside from newly-hired Grinch, will have more new faces as well.
So many high scoring games during the last 4 years were rescued only by Mayfield and Murray, who played without a "safety net" (also known as a defense) to hold off the opposition's offense. The defense now must meet the offense halfway in winning games. The "video game offense" can no longer carry such a weak defense on its back.

Any mention of additional hires? I assume Grinch will become the safety coach, right? Just wondering about any other personnel changes. Ruffin to an administrative position....opening up a new DL vacancy? Cook?

I have a feeling he's contacting the current recruits and attempting to close on others as signing date is closing in. I bet we hear something pretty quick. Next week would be my guess.

I feel that this is a better hire than Golding would be.

I also think that we could be surprised at how good the offense will be. I don't expect Austin Kindel to be a Baker or Kyler ... but I think he can get the job done.

I am ready for 2019 to begin.
Grinch first job is to go get Bru McCoy or Chris Steele if not both.

Bru is signed... maybe we can get Steele
