It’s getting crazy out there

Two lane drive thru’s yet mofos are single filing or worse!

Today at CFA

Two lane’r

Pulled up. Right side empty. Two cars in left. So as i’m pulling in the empty right lane the 2nd car in the left was parked a few car links behind car at the speaker. Saw me on the right side & straight up swung over & went in the right lane in front of me.

Straight up ANARCHY I say!

Wanted to add this to the closest you’ve come to committing murder but noticed recently the chaos behind drive thru lines

Not quite. I can wait 20 seconds cuz I’m not an impatient entitled fat ***.

& I certainly don’t pull that kind of move in a two lane drive thru

Maybe we should just go ahead & do that at the grocery store.

CHAOS I SAY!

Has anyone ever gone to the inside drive-through line, been trapped for life and died?

Well....my Mom's husband has a bizarre fear of drive thru lines. WiLL NOT pull into one for any reason.

If he wants something from a fast food restaurant, he will always park and go in. Which is fine I do that from time to time if the line is substantial.

And If YOU want something while riding with him, he drops you off at the door and then circles the building until you come out.

Its just weird.

The people at the new Chick-fil-A in Lexington do not understand how the two lanes work. I’ve been there three times and each time all the idiots are lined up in one queue (separated by cones), so I just whip in front of them with no mercy.

Chick-fil-A's drive-thru's in Florida seem sub-optimal.

I thought this would be about how unbelievably bad the service is since Covid. I thought they were bad before but I am not exaggerating that no matter what state or what restaurant, it is a miracle if I get exactly what I order.

As Joe Pesci since famously said, “they will **** you at the drive-thru”. This is why, if available, I go inside. Although, inside or drive-thru it’s a crapshoot if they get the order correct

The biggest problem I have at the drive thru is that unless I'm at a drive thru in the Southern Appalachia region, no one can understand me. It's terrible here in south Florida and I usually have to repeat myself several times. On a stop at a Checkers, the lady working the window had me repeat myself three times, and I could hear giggles in the background. When I pulled around to the window, several employees were looking at me and grinning as the lady gave me my food and asked me where I was from.

As for the best drive thru, Pal's is the clear winner. Pal's is a regional chain in East TN and Southwest VA that are all drive thru based except for 3 restaurants. Their calling card is "Sudden Service", and they live by that. They have an outstanding training program and are well managed. You'll never see an understaffed Pal's. They are a good company to work for as far as a fast food chain in terms of pay & benefits. They are also extremely flexible with the hours people want to work. Our grandson is a junior in high school who also plays football and wrestles. He is also employed by Pal's. During football and wrestling, he might work 8-10 hours or none. The rest of the year, he'll work about 20-24 hours a week.

Hmm, I’d like to try me some of that Pal’s.

I quit McDonalds pretty much for one reason. At our McDonalds, if you go inside to order, you get your order whenever the drive thru dies down. So, it’s a long time, and it took my a while to fully realize that it was really happening to me. It’s the most shockingly dumb operation I’ve ever seen in my life.

I’ll do the CFA thing every now and then, but that’s about it.

Honestly.. im kind of the same way. If it's a few cars, whatever. If it's a huge line that once you get in you can't get out, my anxiety goes up.

No idea why. Maybe it's getting stuck there.

Weirdly enough.. riding through a drive thru (as opposed to driving) doesn't really bother me.

Pro tip for chick fil a is mobile order ahead
Last time I went to Tolly-Ho, the line was out the door, so I got on my cell, and placed an order for pickup. Had my food in 10 minutes. It was a great feeling; walking past all of those folks standing in line and picking up my "to go" order, which I prompty took to a table, and then I sat down and ate. I was done eating long before the person that was in front of me in line even placed an order.

Work smarter, not harder.
