I am looking to get my 6 year old son a drone or remote control airplane for Christmas. From what I have seen there are a million different options. Only thing I can tell so far is it takes a few hours to charge for 6 minutes of flying time, so buying an extra set of batteries may be a good idea. Any suggestions on drones or remote control airplanes/helicopters for a 6 year old? Looking to spend less than $100, so I know my selection is somewhat limited. Thanks!

There is a drone thread. You may find some info there. There is also a faction of drone nazis, you will probably hear from them soon.

Buy one of those helicopters at the mall. It's for a 6 yo. It's gonna crash, land on the roof or otherwise get destroyed or ignored within an hour of opening it anyways.

Airplace? You want Airplace advice?

OK. The best airplace for the drone that you buy for your 6 yr old and then comandeer for your own use is any airplace that isn't in the Kaizer no-fly zone.

I see that mofo flying in my airspace...it's going to get shot down.

Good luck with your new toy. Hope Santa comes through for you.

Don't agree with a 6 year old having one but not my decision. Kohl's has just what you're looking for though. Link

We were looking to get our son one as well, until we saw the part where it only last 6 minutes after a 1-2 hour charge. That means, it'll fly for 6 minutes, he'll get pissed off because he has to wait for it to charge, all the time bugging the crap out of me on why the charge doesn't last longer and why don't I get him one that it does. Ultimately, it will get used for about a week and go with all the other unused crap he has. Therefore, he's not getting a drone for Christmas.
