Ok so I’m highly considering making the 5.5 hour drive to Atlanta for the game next month but I have some questions. Is the area where the stadium is dangerous? I’ve never been to Atlanta but I haven’t always heard good things about the city. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Every major city’s downtown can be considered “dangerous”

Dont walk down dark alleys alone, dont get drunk and pick fights, and stay on the main streets and you have nothing to worry about. Ive lived in Charlotte and Atlanta and dont feel Atlanta is anymore dangerous

Thanks bud. I’m gonna buy parking right at the stadium if I do go. I know all big cities have their reps but never been to ATL. Most likely gonna go down for it! Thanks once again!

I’m in Atlanta on business at least three times a year for the past 20+ years. I have never felt unsafe there. The area around the stadium is well lit and open. There is always a police presence on foot, on bikes, on segways and in cars. There are a fair number of homeless but I have never felt threatened. I have had my family there with me. Not an issue. Go. Have fun. Let’s Go Duke!

I haven't been in 6 or 7 years but we used to go a couple of times a year. Nightlife was off the charts.

But I digress. The area around the stadium was fine from what I remember... I doubt it's changed that much. You should be fine.

I've been living here in Atlanta since 09 and just as previous posters have stated, every large city has its problems, along with the smaller cities. Lived all over the United States and never had an issue with anybody here in Atlanta, but watch out for the dummies behind the wheels here. Some of the dumbest drivers I ever witnessed in my life.

Your best bet is to get a hotel downtown and walk through Centennial Park to the stadium. A lot of fans will be out so it's a fun occasion. My pops and I go to a Falcons game every year and it's always a blast.
