Surprised they didn’t use my son’s school (NC St) for that (suicidal thoughts episode). He said over past 2-3,years their had been 8-10 suicides from their Engineering school (which he was in).
I hate Duke as much as anybody but I see their side of it. If this were a UK sweatshirt this board would be in meltdown mode right now. What am I missing? I think we all want to see our brands in a positive light.
The entire season has already played and where he(the dad, dook) and the mom(unc) went to school as well as their kids is a fair part of their makeup as a family. It’s already played out and it’s not changing now. Suck it dook.

I haven’t watched the show but I’ve seen trailers. The family appears to be ultra wealthy but depraved or soulless. Despicable people. The wife, at least, is southern. I think the husband is supposed to be too. From what little I know about the show, the shirt, as a backstory, makes sense, and I bet the Duke objection has less to do with the drugs and depression than the overall unlikeability of the characters who are associated with it. That actor, BTW, is the same individual who played the villainous Banastre Tarelton character in the Patriot and the diabolical Malfoy patriarch in Harry Potter. Long story short, if the shirt fits, you must acquit.
It’s also going to bring way more eyes on the episode than would have been without it. I didn’t even know this existed.
Ahh, the Great Satan is displeased with itself. I wish North Carolina had a lake form right in the middle of where Durham is located. The world of basketball would be so much better without a Duke existing.

It's a TV show. Who cares what they wear. Really most people these days are so hypersensitive. It disgusts me . Next everyone is gonna be upset he was wearing clothes....cause we all wear clothes too. Or that he was breathing the air that we all breathe.
Bitching about a Kentucky shirt in a show that gives us a bad image and actually suing over it are two different things.
TBH, this is just a dumb move by the producers. Someone knew this would cause an issue. Leads me to believe it was intentional. Probably a UNCheat fan. If it's intentional, I'm here for that. If it wasn't intentional, it was a pretty stupid move.
Fake news. It doesn’t say they’re suing. When asked if they were suing, Dook didn’t say. Aren’t there enough reasons to hate them without making stuff up?

Would they attempt to sue a serial rapist who committed his crimes while wearing a Duke shirt? Of course they wouldn't sue because if you put it out there for public consumption, you can't control who buys it. Why should it be any different when it comes to a tv show which is supposed to be representative of a segment of our society?
"a lawsuit is being considered" is nothing less than a warning shot across the bow. It is still ridiculous and unbecoming of a top institution of higher learning.
Why do you think that? Every single shot in most movies and TV shows is designed with a purpose in mind. Often when a brand is shown it is to make some kind of positive statement that is cleverly marketed. This isn't accidental. Someone knew exactly what they were doing in this shot and it was done on purpose. Having said that, I don't really know if this is an overreaction or legit but I can certainly see Duke's side in this. If this were a UK shirt, the discussion would be very different.
If it was a UK shirt, I wouldn't care. I wouldn't care because it would probably cause some folks who know nothing about UK to google about it and that would be a good thing.
Two of the characters in the show are duke graduates, not a "dumb move by producers" when the characters are written to be rich a*******'s that can't find peace on a vacation

Okay, you are right. It doesn't actually say that they are even contemplating a lawsuit. I just was reading between the lines.
