I saw one block in the back, but it was an obvious one. Everything else looked clean to me. Not sure why they didn't kick it out of bounds... That sucks.

And the 12th man on the field. What video replay were they watching??? I saw the knee down, 12th man, and the block in the back from #22 Miami when it was live. How the hell did the refs not see it after 10 minutes??

It ends up being a good story: "Look how this team came together for their coach, [insert name here]. These guys rallied and would stop at nothing to make sure they got a win!" Bull$h!t

WOW! That is one helluva way to lose a ball game. How many infractions on one play can you get? Take your choice; a knee down, 12 men on the field, a block in the back...which is not suppose to be reviewable once a flag has been thrown. But, as life in general, 'stuff' happens, and things don't always go your way.

Cut is going to have his hands full to get this team to put this behind them, and go on to the next game. Something like this can be a lingering hangover. As difficult as it is the team has to show it's toughness and move on.

Here's another pic of the Miami player having a knee down.

They can review to see if any kneed were down (which they got wrong), but you can't pick up an illegal block flag. The one they called was marginal, but there was an incredibly blatant one on the other end of the field. By that logic, if you can change a call you think you missed, why can't you change it to make a call you should have made?

Just a side note to football. I learned this while coaching my Pop Warner team. NC High School Rules for football, the defense can't draw the offense to a false start. If they do, then it's a 10 TD. penalty against the defense.

The camera doesn't lie but we can't do a thing about it. I wonder f the officiating crew will receive any reprimand. It's gonna take a while before I can accept this.I guess it can be said that the game shouldn't have came down to this but it did. We owe UNC big time for the butt kicking and the vandalism they left at Wallace Wade.

Welp, we're not going to get it reversed now. We're going to have to get used to the fact that like UK basketball, Michigan football, Stanford football, Miami football, Houston basketball, and a variety of other schools that we now have an historic highlight of which we're on the wrong side. Grin and bear it, clenched jaw and all.

Y'all got screwed.

Never will understand how they have replay and after reviewing says the guys knee wasn't down. And then pick up the flag?

It's pretty pathetic officiating.

Better things to ponder. We are ranked. We go to bowl games now. Teams actually sweat us on their schedule now. We have a great team with a great coach who doesn't cheat his *** off. We have top notch facilities now. Our recruiting gets better every year. That loss sucked but my God ain't I happy to see Duke Football standing tall and proud.

And the fact they stormed the field after a "win" again Duke speaks volumes about both programs.

Yep, this. What good will complaining about it do, for starters, and look at how far we've come as a program. I will admit that for us long-suffering Duke fb fans, it's the nightmare of the past that makes this a morale victory of sorts. I'd be more upset losing a basketball game in similar fashion, and I hope that football's success continues such that I'm as spoiled there.

Isn't it just amazing that an officiating crew can blatantly disregard a rule book and the outcome cannot be changed? What's the point of even having a rule book then? It's a shame that on this kind of play they can control the game by breaking the rule book. I mean if it was a bad call without a review okay we have to move on but this should've never happened. I just don't get how officials can make up their own rules and can't be corrected when they went back to the monitor to review it.

IMO, what's really egregious is how they picked up the block in the back penalty 9 minutes after the play ended. There were like 3 blocks in the back on that play. I don't think we played that play well -- but they don't get that opening down the sideline without a couple of those blocks.

Obviously they won't retroactively change the colossal blunder they made, but I am very curious to hear an official explanation.

What about the fact that Miami had 23 penalties for 194 yards and Duke only had 5 penalties for 41 yards?

That last Duke drive for a TD was aided by 3 PI calls. If anything, Duke clearly was the beneficiary of bad officiating. That picture of Walton "down" with the ball in his hand? The ball looks like it's touching his hand, but already starting to come out. If so, it's a fumble. And a guy running onto the field (helmet or not) would be a dead ball foul, regardless.

The officiating was trash all night. You guys are ignoring the rest of the game and focusing on the crazy finish. Again, 23 penalties to 5.

Well when Miami is #117 in fewest penalties called and duke is #15 it makes sense doesn't it? Just because one team commits that many penalties doesn't mean the other is as well

No, 23 penalties to 5 never makes sense and I take umbrage with many of them. In any event, good game. I am shocked you guys didn't just kick it out of bounds. Rosier doesn't even have the arm to throw it 50 yards.

There's a lot of "what if" about last night's game. After Michigan-Michigan State, FSU-Georgia Tech, and now this, it's just a crazy sport. GL
