Who do you think will start early in the season?

Who will be the first few guys off the bench?
Knee-jerk Starters (lol, as of July 29)

Caleb Foster
Dame Sarr
Isaiah Evans/Nik Khamenia
Can Boozer
Pat Ngongba

First few off bench. Cayden Boozer, Maliq Brown, Isaiah Evans/Nik Khamenia. I’ll be interested to see the role Darren Harris carves out, as he is talented. Real possibilities of a consistent nine-man rotation.

Also curious if they bring in one more bigger player for the rotation. Not that I have any specific names, and it is later in the cycle, but there is room on the roster.

Which players are most likely to go pro after this season?
Right now, Cam Boozer I would project as gone. Think if things go according to plan, Dame Sarr will have that opportunity as well.

With the rest of the roster, if they do what they’re supposed to do, Nik Khamenia and Isaiah Evans have NBA eyes firmly watching. And then Caleb Foster will have the opportunity to play his way into consideration.

Am I correct in thinking that anyone on the roster has to have a scholarship? No more walk-ons. Or can you still have walk-ons beyond the 15-player scholarship limit?

Can't hurt to add another big guy even if he's only for practice and scrub minutes.

I'm hoping this is the year Foster finally gets it together. But if he doesn't, who replaces him in the lineup? Boozer?

The understanding, I am told, is the expectation is for Boozer to be able to comfortably play 12-18 minutes this season. I’m told that the expectation is for Foster to take that step.

First player to commit to us??
First to commit vs best position with makes this tricky. I would say it sounds like the player they’re in the best position with right now might be Jordan Smith. But with Arkansas and Kentucky visits set and an unsettled timeline, I’m not sure if he’ll be the first to commit.

Watching the commitment timelines from guys like Bryson Howard, Sayon Keita, Cam Williams, Austin Goosby, etc.

Kager is an interesting player. His game is not as advanced as Kon’s at the same stage, but Kager is a legit 6-7 if not more. He has excellent length and is a sneaky defensive presence, deflections, off ball blocks, etc. he is also a good spot shooter stretching the floor.

He does not have the handle, the strength, or the ability to get to spots and self create that Kon had. Kager, at this stage, doesn’t have any of that. But he is an intriguing defender with positional size and can shoot. Different player, different positional archetype.

Strength and continued confidence/comfort will go a long way for him. TBD with him as the upside is intriguing.

Don’t have a good enough feel for Kinston, the 2028.

Teams can still have walk ons, it’s just a CBB roster cannot go over a 15 player max.
