Awesome! That and Kansas in the Champions, and Duke has two confirmed non-conference games against the top ten. We will get early looks at these freshmen on big stages!

This is cool. Should be a great test for our young guys.

I've always had a lot of respect for MSU and Tom Izzo. Seems like a stand up, heart on his sleeve, straight shooter kinda guy. It would probably be fun to sit down and watch a big game with him over a pitcher and some wings :) .

Still woulda' been cool to see the Terps.

Thanks, DukeRules!

Yeah, I've learned from her that MSU fans have the same respect for Duke that we have for them. The feelings are definitely mutual.

She went to school with Tom's niece, so she's been around him a few times. Says he's very much your average guy and someone you'd want to have a beer with.

I love that we'll be playing them the next two years. Definitely going to make some mini vacations out of it. Anyone know where we play them in the Champions in 2017?
Searched a few minutes to find out about 2017, couldn't come across anything. Are we positive that the Champions Classic will continue after this season??? Us playing Kansas this year means its the 3rd and final leg of the second time playing everyone.

When I saw him playing the accordion and singing Chtistmas Carols along with the rest of the MSU team told me he is definitely a down to earth guy you would want to just chill with. I have a lot of respect for Izzo.

Dang! I was hoping it would be Maryland! Still a great matchup.

One of the stipulations in Maryland's release was that they will not play Duke until at least 2020. No joke. The only way it can happen is in the tournament. Can't be a scheduled game. Can't make this stuff up.

Mich St lost a ton to graduation, I do not anticipate a close game in early December. Just sayin

I have to agree with tarwhiz. Almost every "too early top 25 ranking" has Michigan State in the top 10. I just don't see it. They lost 4 starters + Marvin Clark to transfer. Outside of Eron Harris, MSU has no returners that averaged more than 4 ppg. Miles Bridges will be nice, no doubt. Langford and some of the others will be good too. But this team is going to be heavily reliant on unproven players. They could surprise me, but I don't think MSU gets higher than a 5 seed in the Tourney.

MAYE and Kenny Williams had huge freshman season's last year though.
Hope you bank that Maye and Williams recruiting class in your memory for as long as you can, because we both know that won't be the norm any longer.
As for the topic at hand.....I do not see Mich St finishing any higher than 4-5 in the Big 10 with 4th being generous. Sorry if my thoughts on Sparty are construed as being negative towards Duke
I know Duke will be good, but so will Carolina. Looking forward to this year VERY MUCH!

It won't be the norm any longer? What's happening now? Give us your forecast. Surely you're not suggesting Roy will begin recruiting 5 stars? I thought he steered clear of those for fear of one and done players?

They may start coming to unx as one and dones, but they'll leave as four year undrafted d-league players after Roy works his magic on them.
