Big Monday again down in Coral Gables against a nationally ranked opponent. This one is going to be really, really tough. Miami has played us VERY well of late and Coach L knows exactly how to prepare his team for Duke. The fact it's at the BUC makes it even more difficult. Expect a sold-out raucous crowd, as well.

I've never picked against Duke in my almost 10 years of doing the gameday threads - not starting now regardless of the chances we have. On a bright side, Vegas has the line at even.

I think we piggy-back off of Saturday's great second-half surge over NC State and we pull out a close win off hot shooting and great defense in the post and "The Marshall".

Game is slated for a 7pm est tip and will air on ESPN HD.

I'm really not sure, I don't have a feeling one way or the other. Being at Miami, I'm gonna have to say Miami wins and hope I'm wrong. This Duke team needs to toughen up on defense to beat Miami and I don't think they are there.

Miami is a better version of Clemson. Our only hope is to burn the nets from 3 and play inspired D. We need our big 3 to be on tonight: Grayson/Luke/Ingram. If we can get 60 from them, we have a chance.

Outside of Kentucky, we've been right there in every game! Bring the same energy and execute late! I expect to see the same 3/4 court pressure to slow them down. I'm guessing K didht take kindly to Laranaga runnin his mouth in Cameron last year. Plan on another wrinkle or two tonight to slow penetration.

Canes average attendance is 1,500 but tonight Duke hate will be flowing with sellout. Does Warren Sapp's probation officer allow him to attend?

Picking against Duke and betting against Duke are two different things. I've picked against Duke several times and I will again today. I don't like these Monday games because it doesn't give us alot of rest. Miami has a deeper bench than us (doesn't everyone?) so that helps them with this short turnaround. They are a tough, well coached team.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but that is kind of where I'm at. If they shoot 71% in the second half like Saturday, I think they would be in good shape!

This thread is getting tougher and tougher. We had a great second half vs, NCSU Sat. and I'm hoping we can start to put together a complete game or two. No better than tonight. No game is going to be easy for us. Still in hopes that the next game will be Chase or Obi's breakout game. Plumlee could use some rest. Miami is tough on us always but I just refuse to pick against us. I can't help it. It's my nature. I am an OFC Duke fan. Bless my heart.

I kinda like us being the underdog here. After a solid finish on Saturday I hope we come out loose and shooting well. Would love to see another big game from Marshall. Duke 88, Miami 83.

And what is with this Saturday/Monday scheduling??? Not impressed. :(

The bad part about this season is we have lost some games that we had no business losing. The good thing is I think it has made us hungrier each and every time we take the floor, no games for granted. I firmly believe this team is capable of winning tonight as long as we mix up our defensive looks, rebound the ball as a collective unit and yes, knock down some 3's. There may be years when we emotionally look past a team like Miami for a variety of reasons. I am confident we will be inspired tonight and I give us a fighting chance. I say if we play this game tonight 10 times we win 5 of them. With that in mind, I will take us to pull out a hard fought W and we are officially out of our rut.

Another program that gives us trouble. If we can stay out of serious foul trouble (a big if with only 6) I think we'll win this game. Of course we'll have to make some 3's, and not get killed on the boards. Go Duke!

Coach K is going to have our kids ready to play. I'm sure after Coach L made the comment about not running a specific offense and just freelancing vs Duke, that K probably took offense to that (I know I did!). That said, Coach K shows multiple defenses (lot of zone) and we beat their arse.

Not just because Miami is a very good team, but this would be a big win for us tonight. I think we will definitely have to shoot lights out, but we must also go to the hole at every opportunity, and crash the boards. And, because we need all of these things to happen, I believe they will, and Duke wins a "white knuckler"!!

While I think Miami is a relatively decent matchup for us b/c they're a guard heavy lineup, I don't think we have the depth to beat them at this point. Either we go zone and they shoot us out of the gym or we play man and they get us into foul trouble. Either way I don't see a clear path to victory if Miami plays a decent game. With that said, Angel Rodirguez is a big X-factor. Some games he's lights outs. Others he shoots the opposition into the winner's circle. To win, I think we need Angel and Miami to be off their game.

Luke hits a three at the buzzer and we win by two. We travel three times on the final possession and the shot is clearly after the buzzer. The refs review it and do not overturn it. Sound familiar Miami??

We will know a lot by the first TV timeout..... If the refs are calling touch stuff ( they always seem to down there) we've got no shot I don't think. Refs can truly ruin a game with these new rules. Essentially anything can be a foul.

It's a mans game..... Let's come out swinging like a mother F'er!!!! Get Miami swaggin and they just go nuts!!! CANNOT allow run outs for Dunks, I swear they should count for 4 pts

Wow- sometimes i forget the age difference - some of these Miami players are 4+ years OLDER than our freshman....quite the difference
