Two things come to mind about this game. One, I’m not at all convinced this game is actually going to happen because of all this crazy coronavirus stuff and two, if it is (god I hope it is), we were supposed to win the game at home last week against State, now we get a real test, at a neutral site against them - to really avenge the loss.

This team has run the gauntlet this year; at least for me. I’ve had moments of thinking we were clearly the best team in the country (precisely the night of December 3rd) and nights thinking we’re barely a top 20 team (precisely the night of November 26th).

It ALL resets now. I don’t think we can nab a one seed at this point, but we can be on the two line, fairly easily. But we’ve got to win games - against tourney level competition, and it starts today.

Today’s game is set to tip at 1:30pm and will air on ESPN. However, it is tentative to the finish of the first quarter-final game. Duke is currently favored by -8, and I’m going to take it. I think we cover. This team has something to prove and Tre is going to take it upon himself to win this game.

At this point, I doubt it happens. Also, Fred Hoiberg (Nebraska head coach) left the game sick and was taken to the hospital. He has a heart condition, but he was coughing and holding his head in his hands during the game. IF, and I mean IF, this is the coronavirus, then this seals the deal. Whatever it is, I pray Mr. Hoiberg will be okay, and makes a quick recovery.

I hope we play.
If we do, and with no fans there to root them on, I think state fails to cover the spread

Thankfully he was just released and not quarantined for the virus.

Unfortunately I think you’re right about our chances of getting a 1 seed because I think at best our chances of getting a 1 seed are very slim unless one of the bottom two 1 seeds loses really early in their conference tournaments but I doubt that will happen. If we win the ACC Tournament then I think we will probably be one of the top two 2 seeds. I would say hopefully I’m Greensboro it at this point that doesn’t even really matter now since there will be no fans allowed at the game. The only real benefit now to getting to play in Greensboro is the short travel distance to get there and back to Durham.

Kind of a dick move by him. Regardless if someone thinks this is hysteria or the next Black Plague or something in between, if someone is feeling any symptoms that could remotely be related to coronavirus they should quarantine themself until they get tested. Not go to a game where you’re constantly making contact with people and the objects they touch.

I agree, if you’re sick with anything then it’s a dick move to coach a basketball game when you know that you’re going to come into contact with dozens if not hundreds of people that you could spend it to. After my friend told me that Fred Hoiberg was diagnosed with a common cold I was on some other message boards and saw a post that said that he was experiencing flu like symptoms and when he went to the hospital he was diagnosed with influenza. My cousin was telling me a couple of days ago about a guy in New York or somewhere that was diagnosed with coronavirus and his doctor told him to stay home and quarantine himself but he didn’t listen and went to a party knowing that he had coronavirus.

Listening to the talking heads this morning on sports channels, I expect these games and season to end shortly before the first game today. A lot of pressure is going to be on the NCAA to cancel. Nobody thinks they should be playing if the pro's have shut it down.

For a moment, I felt bad for Tre, then I realized how much he improved himself this year in front of millions to witness their selves for his near future..

Hope we are still playing, but if the ACC Commissioner is addressing the media, at 10 AM, it almost seems like a good chance, the rest of the ACC tournament won’t be played. Now that the heels are out, Swofford feels comfortable cancelling it. Lol!

Win or lose this might be the last Duke game we get to see this year. Who knows. Play hard and got out with a dub if this is it.

This team took a lot of Sh** from some of the posters on this board but if you told me at the beginning of the season we would be 25-6, 15-5 in conference I would driven to that sh**hole Kentucky and did Fireballs with Dukefanky. I for one am damn proud of this team, and I mean damn proud. I love em and thank them for a memorable season. F*** the haters, including some of our own "fans".

Tre, I think I heard your nuts hit the side of your knee. Get the trainer to look at that before tip off. Steel on bone can be painful.

State is gonna get it. I hope we utterly dismantle them. Take out all the frustrations of playing with no fans on them.
