Sorry to all but I’ve had a few.

I’m a big Twitter / X guy and I guess my algorithm got messed up and all I see now are non stop dUKie threads about how they gave us the game, their two “most important” players had boo boos and had to sit.

It was our Super Bowl. Then Jay Williams Dukesplaining at us.

They slowing down instant replays to show referee bias almost had me going postal.

That is all.

Might be time for Duke fans to do some self reflection/examination. They’d realize Scheyer isn’t a good coach (and probably never will be).

I'm guessing they're not pointing out the 2 phantom fouls on 3 point shots the refs gifted them... lol... Dukies complaining about referee bias is hilarious

Didn’t duke fans almost hang a “118-84” banner in their middle school gymnasium?

Their big center cramping the final 13 minutes definitely played into our hands. It would be foolish to deny that. But part of that is bc we forced the issue and ran them into the ground…it wasn’t just a fluke.

Even Cooper Flagg was absolutely gassed and that likely contributed to the errors down the stretch. The late press helped us force tempo even more late, when it typically gets into a walk it up type game and it sped Flagg up. He was dropping in sweat and mouth breathing the final 5 minutes

IF we meet again, I expect their conditioning to be better….BUT I also expect to get production out of JR, for Williams not to miss as many bunnies, and Butler to not be so trigger happy in the first half. I also trust pope to scheme a little more pressure to negate some of the mismatches on Flagg in the P&R game. The reality is, I think we have more room to improve from how we played vs how they played. Flagg played about as well as he could have. Some of their missed threes were fatigue.

Gave us the game...

We missed 20 lay ups, one of our best players had 1 pt, and one of our best shooters was 2-9. We'll beat them by 12-15 if we play them again tomorrow or in March.
That kind of stuff only applied to them. Even saw one where they say we played our A game and they played their C game. Unreal.

Agreed. But according to one of the main dUKies, the center cramping was due more to Carr “laying on his ankle” during that loose ball.

The ankle murder we did caused his cramping

Speaking of Duke I can’t wait to see Duke and Kansas play in about a week. That will give us a gauge of where both those teams are. It’s already easy to see Duke is one of the top teams but is Kansas really the best team?

We all do realize that when we play poorly it was stellar defense. When they do it's an off shotting night.

Again, I think Duke is a really good team. They punked us in the first half with tough D and out muscled our bigs in the paint. They have two of the best offensive players in the country. They have maybe the best rim protector. and they have really tall athlete role players at every other position. We just might play them again if we go far in the tourney.

Kansas is good at the Center spot (Dickinson & Bidunga), but if Adams is your starting PF you better have some really good offense from the other four positions. Adams is Alex Poythress minus the offense (and Poythress wasn’t an offensive dynamo himself). Plus you can’t play him beside Bidunga. Then you’ve got Harris who seems to be a reluctant introverted star player. He sometimes looks like one of the best PGs in the country and then he goes through long stretches (maybe a whole game) where he looks like he’s trying to hide. Coit can spell Harris, but I don’t think he has the game to make up for Harris’ disappearing act. So that then leaves the question of whether Mayo, Storr and Griffen can carry the offense from the wings? In watching them so far I’m not convinced yet - at least not to the point of saying Kansas is the best team in CBB.

Basically, I think Kansas has too many holes to be called the best team in CBB at this point. If I were betting I’d take Duke in that game.

I agree with that Harris assessment, sometimes he looks incredible and sometimes he is just out there. Very strange.
