That’s another one of those fake reporters who likes to troll people on Twitter. May was on UNC’s wish list according to some reputable reports, but nothing that decisive about him going there has come from any valid sources. I’d personally still be shocked if he leaves Michigan. They’re in a position where nobody is going to outbid them unless they allow it.

To some extent we have Cal to blame for May being off the board, he was signed on with Michigan before the UK job was open. It is at least fun that Louisville tried their hardest to get him and whiffed. At this point it's very hard to imagine him leaving Michigan, knowing he's got plenty of money and is already winning big (maybe the biggest) in his second year. He is maybe the most obvious star of the next generation of coaches, must be nice.

Michigan apparently has a competent AD and search committee. Much like Vandy, look what a difference a good AD has made with their football and basketball programs. Mitch has really done so much damage, it almost looks to be done on purpose. No one can be that bad at their job.

As a random internet poster you cannot trust me. But with that in mind, what I'm about to state is 100% undeniably correct:

The rumors were swirling, they flew through the air,
They popped up in papers and folks stopped to stare!
They said, "Dusty May is packing his grip!
He’s taking a flight! He’s taking a trip!"

But Dusty stood tall with a wink and a grin,
Amidst all the chatter and blue-and-gold din.
"I’m staying right here!" he declared with a roar,
"I’m not headed out through the locker room door!"

He wouldn't go south to the Land of the Blue,
Where the Wildcats are waiting (and the pressure is, too).
Not for the UK, not for their court,
He’s staying in Michigan, holding the fort!

He wouldn't go over to UNC,
To sit in the shade of a light-blue tree.
Not for the history, the banners, the fame,
He’s keeping the Maize and the Blue in his name!

"I won't leave for money! I won't leave for gold!
I won't leave for stories of glory of old!
I won't leave for nothing! Not even a snack!
Once I’ve arrived, there is no turning back."

He’ll stay in the snow! He’ll stay in the breeze!
He’ll coach by the Lakes and he’ll coach by the trees!
From Ann Arbor’s streets to the Crisler floor,
Dusty is staying—and then staying some more!

So tell all the boosters and tell all the fans,
That Dusty has firmly laid down all his plans.
No matter the offer, no matter the "Whew!"
Dusty’s not leaving. He’s True Blue through and through!

Amazing how delusional some people are. The only kind of dream job UKBB is right now is a nightmare. The unrealistic expectations of posters here show why no one in there right mind would take this job now. While this only represents 1% of our fans it's so loud it seems like we're all idiots.
It’s unrealistic to want the most successful program in history to at minimum finish in the top half of their own conference after outspending the entire country. Ok, I guess. This is 2026, you are either making moves to win or you are getting passed by programs that are. This isn’t 1980, patience is a thing of the past. No booster wants to drop millions and millions on a lame duck program. In old times talk, “it’s time to **** or get off the pot”

Michigan has a great organization. They hired a guy they wanted to throw their weight behind, went all in, and run the program effectively.

It took a tiny bit of luck, Mick Cronin coaching Mara and reducing his value is one, but they capitalized on an opportunity everybody else had.
