uggg...so, can someone tell what I cannot see in the box score? How was the D? How did Olah look? How did the bigs cycle? Etc.

Btw, Dugan - are you going to offer any of your plus minus stats this year?

I'll hang up and listen.

The D was bad. Real bad. It started with Demps being unable to ever find his man, causing his teammates to go help on his man and leaving their's wide open, and continued to no one being able to defend any PSU player throughout the night. Olah was ridiculously excited to get back on the court, which resulted in him taking some terribly ill-advised shots as quickly as he could, while sprinting (and I mean sprinting) up and down the court. His free throws looked good at least. Between Olah and JvZ, we scored 15 points on 28 possessions and they were a -13 combined in 20 minutes of play. With Pardon in the game, we were able to score, but couldn't defend.

Sorry, Bob: I am not tracking +/- this year. Took up too much time last year. Cappy does some fabulous work as noted above.

I think Coach Collins has a challenge relating to how to rotate the 3 bigs. They each have their value. I wasn't sure last night we ever found a rhythm with how to initiate the offense. I will say this: Not only is Pardon more advanced as a junk yard dog player than anyone since Jitim, with some focused work by some coaches, I think he has real upside on his low-post offensive movements. He's young and a little awkward...but you can see the potential. (Of course, I don't know basketball, so take this with a grain of salt.) I thought Olah moved reasonably well. It was kind of cute how excited he was to be on court...his classmates chanting his name...a bit of a standing ovation...and then quite possibly the three worst shot selections of his career in his first three possessions.

Thanks for the feedback. Just good ole Comcast, smithee....

I have always liked the +\- in hockey and loved when mainstream NBA stats added them. Hope it expands to the college level soon.
