A big thing for the Eagles is that when you stress a RB the way they did in 2024 the next year is never as good. Barkley had just shy of 500 touches in 2024. Guys don't bounce back from that quickly.

It is kind of what is happening with Kansas City. Since 2020 they have played another season in playoff games (16). All those years in a row playing into February takes its toll.

I would think that Barkley bounces back in 2026, but he is past that magic RB age of 28 so you never know. The Eagles might be starting the slow fade.

I guess that's why they don't pay RBs as much as some other positions.

But last night the Eagles lost because Hurts was intercepted 4 times. Barkley had 122 yds rushing and the Eagles had more 1st downs and total yards. 5 turnovers did them in.

Partially the problem. The oline play for most of the year has been awful. AJ Brown is just pouting and going through the motions. Jalen had his worst game in a long time last night. The Eagles had 11 days to scheme and come up with plays for that game last night, and that is what they came up with? Seth Joyner pointed exactly the Eagles still have no answers for a 0 blitz other than Jalen throws that moon ball to AJ and prays he gets it. There are big problems with this team and some personalities. Part of it may be super bowl hangover, but AJ is becoming a real problem. On Saquon's long TD run he just stood there and blocked no one. Oline has been injured much of the year. But predictability on where the ball is going is so annoying. Defensive players are calling it out before its snapped. The Eagles defense for the most part has played really well this year. Fangio schemed around not having Jalen Carter last night. The offense just looks like it has no answers and they don't want to change anything. Shame they have so much talent on offense yet look lost.
Jalen Hurts has the longest time to release the ball on a throw in the NFL other a rookie QB. That says he hasnt been making great decisions. No one has an answer to a 0 blitz other than get the ball out quickly, for some reason, JH does not want to do that. The first play of the game AJ is open on the deep pass, hits him in the fingers, and he doesnt catch it. AJ Brown is open in the EZ and the ball goes thru his hands. AJ brown is open across the middle, and knocks the ball up for a pick (and remember there are 2 things you dont knock up, and 1 is a football) point being none of that is the play calling

I agree it's definetly not just play calling and scheme. That is part of it, the players are just not playing well. It's not just 1 or 2 players on offense. About the only good players on offense this year have been Goedert and Barkley and Devontae. The oline has been injured most of the year and when playing not playing well. AJ has been a real disappointment with his play and off the field pouting. Jalen is really struggling without a run game. Add in super bowl hangover and this team is taking on water in a big way heading towards the end of the season. Short of a complete end of season collapse at this rate they will be a 1 and done in the playoffs. Shame because their defense is playing really well. This offense is just smelling up the joint. You would think some of the guys on offense would see the defensive effort every week and give more effort. This offense stinking is not just KP, this also falls on Sirianni.

this is why I dont think they will be 1 and done. I actually think the O is starting to play better, believe it or not, JH performance last night excluded

And outgained LAC 5.5 ypp to 3.9 ypp. The LAC defense is very good and I thought the Eagles offense actually looked better last night (including play calling).
Turnovers made all the difference and 5 TOs is an anomaly. The called back TD and missed FG certainly didn't help either.
The Eagles D was missing arguably their best player and still looked really good (ran out of gas at the end?). It seemed like many of LAC positive plays happened after Herbert just barely avoided getting sacked.

The Eagles were lucky to win games early in the season where they were outgained. I think they were a bit unlucky last night.

So every player on the offense just happens to have a down season all at the same time and it just happens to coincide with a new OC, but it’s not just on the OC….interesting. Yet the defense is playing well with the same DC….isn’t that interesting.

Not every player on the offense is having a down year. It's a multitude of problems on offense not just one.

It starts with one that leads to the others.
Patullo is obviously the root of the problem on offense. The players stopped trusting him and things spiraled to this point.

This is ultimately on Nick. I get that Patullo was his choice and he’s loyal to his friend, but that loyalty messed up the offense for many others. You can’t make those compromises as a leader and maintain credibility.

The offensive players seem resigned. The solution at this point won’t come until after the season and it will require a new play caller from outside the organization. It’s strike two for Nick on his OC hires. This will bear watching with the Lurie/Howie/Nick dynamic.

first I disagree with you. but I could see a Doug type showdown coming at years end, where Lurie tell Nick to fire Patullo and Nick says no , he'll pick his own staff. Besides if Nick was on the market it would take him 30 sec to have his pick of jobs
