Birds' D forces a 3 & out by the Niners on their opening drive.

Birds with another good looking drive on their 2nd possession, but have to settle for a 39-yard FG. 6-0, Birds, with 2:01 left in the 1st qtr

It’s hard to beat top teams by settling for FGs. SF must be thrilled to only be down 6-0. This sets up well for them.

Birds' D forces another 3 & out for the Niners. Other than the Birds' O not scoring TDs on their 2 possessions, things have gone very well for the Birds so far.

Birds' O goes 3 & out on their 3rd possession. A false start by Hurts when it was 3rd & 6 didn't help

Niners put together a nice drive on their 3rd possession.

On 3rd & goal from the 4, they have an incompletion in the endzone. Alas, the Birds are called offsides on the play, so the Niners have a 3rd & goal at the 2. And they get a TD on their extra 3rd down attempt. On replay, it does not appear to be a catch, but it's close. Play is being reviewed -- I could see it being ruled either way.

There it is. Despite dominating early, SF takes the lead 7-6. The Eagles had their chances to but SF in a hole and didn’t.

It's ruled a catch on review, so it's TD, Niners.

With the PAT, it's 7-6, Niners, with 7:10 left in the 2nd qtr.

That was pass interference. I like the idea of letting them play but you have to call pass interference when the defender has his arms all over the receiver.
