Super Bowl: Iggles-Chefs, February 12th, Glendale, AZ

Many storylines here:

Andy Reid coaching against his former team for all the marbles.

Kelce Bowl: Jason vs. Travis

Hurts vs. Mahomes

Who is the better tight end, T. Kelce or Goedert? o_O

Who has the better holder?

Discuss it all here, or somewhere else.

If Philadelphia loses, it won’t be because of Hurts.

Today on bill Simmons cousin sal, a cowboys fraud who’s never been to Texas, said he gives the birds zero credit. What amazes me is the biggest story line going into the game was the birds O would get dominated by the SF D. SF D was as advertised, really great, yet the Birds somehow scored when needed, got important first downs and stayed true to themselves going 4th and short from their own 35? yl. I say they deserve credit for beating their D, but crickets from the national press.
‘As I look at KCs D rankings, strong against the run, mediocre v the pass, good sack numbers. 1 is gonna run for a TD, 3 first downs and 75 yards

Well when the other team spots you no quarterbacks I would think the defense would cave at some point .

By a 3-1 vote, the ESPN Get Up talking heads have Philadelphia winning.

Absolutely no doubt, and we all knew they would break eventually however it's not like the QBs hurt themselves.

Knocking out both QBs yesterday reminded me of the "Body Bag" game against Washington way back in 1990 when rookie running back Brian Mitchell had to finish the game at QB. I mean knocking out both SF QBs was unfortunate for them but doesn't this demonstrate that the Eagles defense dominated the SF offense? "Offense wins games, Defense win Championships"

Any way, will Mahomes be more mobile in 2 weeks? Will the Chiefs WR be healthy enough to play? Will the Eagles defense be just as dominating against the Chiefs? Will the Eagles OL be able to manage Jones? Will Sirianni's staff be able to out coach Big Red's staff?

As a life long Eagles fan, I don't let my hopes get too high for any Philly sports team, however, I feel a wee bit more confident going into this match up then back in 2017. The next two weeks if going to take forever!!!

I have been thinking about this. The other team lacked the offensive scheme and talent to handle the Eagles defense so their QBs got pummeled. Doesn't that demonstrate how the Eagles were the more dominant, better team? They were also able to score on the #1 Defense in the NFL, granted it wasn't easy and was with the help of penalties at times that were legit penalties. SF just fell apart because they were obviously not the better team yesterday.

And committing penalties cause getting beat all over the field. I also never heard any talking head saying 1 is healthy and hard to handle.

They started with the 3rd string qb.
....who has looked better than QB1 and QB2.
And would it have mattered anyway? If JimmyG and TL were both healthy, the Eagles dominant DL probably would have knocked them out of the game.

Good points, but in fairness on at least 2 of the Eagles drives, the 49ers contributed more than 1/2 of the drive's yards via penalties, and often kept drives alive via costly 3rd down penalties, an indefensible "roughing the kicker" penalty, facemasks and personal fouls, etc. Just by the Chiefs demonstrating a bit of defensive discipline they could yield a better overall defensive result as compared with the SF defense despite having less talent than the SF defense. 🤷‍♂️

Discuss it all here, or somewhere else.

3rd string QB

3rd string QB

3rd string QB……….

until yesterday Purdy was 8-0 and was the consensus 2023 opening day starter for the 9ers who could do no wrong. Then they get smoked. And now it’s back to 3rd string QB with no credit to the eagles. AND he only threw 4 passes. I mean if this is the argument then cry 4th string QB. Words mean things. But to give zero credit to the eagles?

I just don’t get it

They made it to the NFC championship game with the 3rd string QB. Maybe they should have let the Cowgirls win?
Yea and if he played the whole game who knows what would have happened. Eagles probably would have won but you shouldn’t be that impressed.
