We can now discuss bowl projections. Two that I’ve seen are Military Bowl in New York (boo!) and Sun Bowl in El Paso.

I believe the ACC bowls are in tiers (Orange Bowl - tier 1, Camping World/Belk- tier 2 and Music City/Military/Sun/Pinstripe - tier 3, Gasparilla/Quick Lane/Independence - tier 4). The bowls in each tier work with the conference to get teams in a spot that will allow for best exposure/fit. Anyways I think if this is how it’s handled I think it would be more likely that we’d end up in Music City. Even if we lose to Syracuse we’d still finish high enough in conference wins to be Tier 3. Can anyone else shed more light on the selection process?

Yes, there are tiers... but here is the way it works:

1. College football playoff for any team in the top 4.
2. Orange Bowl selects the ACC champion if available, or the next highest CFP committee ranked ACC team if the champion is not available.
3. If the other team selected for the Orange Bowl is from the Big Ten, then the Citrus Bowl picks either an ACC team or Notre Dame. If it is not, then Big Ten goes to the Citrus.
4. The Camping World Bowl (Orlando) selects an ACC team or Notre Dame
5. TIER 1: Belk, Pinstripe, Sun and Music City/Tax Slayer Bowls select ACC/Notre Dame
6. Additional Bowls (TIER 2): Military, Independence, and Quick Lane select ACC/Notre Dame, plus the ACC or Notre Dame are backups for the Gasparilla and Birmingham Bowls.

So currently you’d have:

-Clemson to the College Football Playoffs.
-Virginia as the most likely selection for the Orange Bowl, though it could also be Pitt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest or even Miami
-The Big Ten going to the Citrus, with a 3rd place SEC team (Georgia or Alabama maybe) going to the Orange
-Notre Dame at 10-2 going to the Camping World Bowl if not selected for a New Year’s Six game.
-Then you get to the tier 1 games, and at that point it’s pretty much whichever bowl likes you best.

The only rule in any of this is that, for example, if Louisville finishes 8-4, we cannot be bumped out of a TIER 1 game for a 6-6 team.

Stadium (Brett McMurphy) has Louisville versus Cincinnati in the Military Bowl.

Would be kind of cool to win two trophies at a bowl game! Keep that Keg of Nails, Cards!!

Could Notre Dame take the Orange Bowl spot from the ACC if the others are unranked and Clemson obviously in the playoff?

But Notre Dame could earn a bid to the Cotton Bowl if they are ranked in the top 10. They also could take the other Orange Bowl spot opposite the ACC team if they are ranked higher than any available SEC or Big Ten team. That would free up the Camping World bid to go to an ACC school, which basically would bump everybody in our league up one game.

Cincy would be pretty cool, but in Maryland? Probably wouldn’t be much of a crowd

it was great(not counting the weather)when we kicked A & M

Yes it was a great time. I love Nashville but man they charge an arm & leg to stay down by the row. We looked into booking a room now and there is no refunds(unless you book today and cancel tomorrow). We might gamble our money after we put it to Cuse Sat?

The Music City Bowl would work better for the majority of our fans. I can’t image a better setting close to home than a boot scooting bogie ending to this turn around year. Go Cards! Beat Cuse!
Already pre-ordered my tickets ;)

Locked and loaded. My not so better half (today) gets the emails. He determined UofL wasn't going to Music City on Sunday. He changed his mind today after listening to radio guys. Music City is the only bowl that works with our Florida bound winter trip.
