Fox 23 is saying Leonard, Ok. That's by Bixby, I think. Over 4.0. Knocked over cans in my pantry. My water pipes rattled for two minutes after the shake. I hope it didn't break water lines........

I went through a 7.5 in 1992. We were about 20 miles from the epicenter! Shook for about 2 minutes, three hours later we had a 6.6 aftershock!

Is it not enough with the tornados?
Oklahoma now has the distinction of currently having the most prolific seismic activity in the world...Argh!

Quakes are the schoolyard bullies of natural disasters.
Case in point.
The 9 that hit in the ocean off of Japan in 20ll actually lowered Japan buy one meter, or a little over 3 feet. Amazing. Which would account for all the sea walls being breeched by the tsunamis.
This one totally defies credulity.
It also permantly altered the earths axis by 4 inches.

That is just badass.

When it woke me up this morning at 7 am here in Lawton, I just thought it was the normal Fort Sill artillery firing. I found out it was an earthquake about an hour later.

ps, What do you guy's get in California? Wasn't the big one that hit Frisco during the world series hit 7.1?
Came in as a 7.1 originally, but was lowered later (not sure why).

I was in that earthquake, about 25 miles from
the epicenter. It rocked and rolled for quite awhile.
