Yeah, at 9 this morning, there was a lot more traffic than usual. It should be a mess for y'all that are leaving.

I got in my car at 1:35. Just now sat down at my parents house in Owensboro

I was in Paintsville, I thought it would get darker than it did. Still pretty cool though.

I was lucky enough to be in the path of totality, and it was something I will never forget, just a surreal experience.

Went to my brothers place outside Nashville. Long totality. Truly amazing.

We drove to Madisonville to see it, tried to make it to Paducah but the traffic was absolutely crazy. The totality was incredible. We were in City park and as soon as the totality hit, all the bugs woke up and started making their night noises, then a few minutes after it was over they went silent once again. It was pretty eerie seeing the brightness drop and feeling the sunbeam heat leave your skin. It reminded me of something like Independence Day where the aliens cast the huge shadows over the cities they destroy.

We drove from Lexington and it should have been 4 hours each way TOPs. It took 5 hours to get to Madisonville because of traffic and accidents. We then went to Patti's 1800 Settlement for dinner and left at 4:45 central time. I walked in my door at 12:30! Unreal traffic, never seen anything like it.

Drove down to some friends in Cadiz. Got to see totality. It was very cool. Also noted the crescents coming through the trees. Left shortly after totality and it took nearly three hours to get from Hopkinsville to Madisonville on the Pennyrile.

I took back roads and got where I was going fairly quickly. Even back roads had some trouble.

It was weird being on back roads and seeing Ohio, New Jersey, Ontario, Alabama and many more. This had to be a boom to the economy.

I thought it was truly spectacular! It got almost completely dark here and we had well over 2 minutes of totality. I found some local footage that my mechanic posted to Youtube. Not exactly expert cinematography but pretty entertaining stuff.

I couldn't imagine why people would travel long distances to witness it beforehand.

After witnessing totality I can. It was an amazing experience, video or pictures cannot do it justice. It was a truly amazing experience.
