If LSU doesn't retain him on a permanent contract, I wonder if he'd be willing to clean up the dumpster fire that is the OU defense?

Ok, if Orgeron is out of the picture, maybe we could hire Benny Hill. Never mind, Hill's been dead for 25 years but at least our defense could use his theme song as background music.

LOL Awesome--thanks for posting. Benny's inability to catch the girls is eerily similar to our defense's inability to tackle opposing ball carriers.

Great defensive mind but offense is exactly like Miles. This is one thing he would need to promise to shore up to the ad and president. Entsminger won't be the answer at OC

Bring in Ed...kick Mike in the seat of his pants. Give Riley a promo. Bob seems to be in country club land anyways. Rewind to Houston game and the missed fg. Oh we missed the speed guy waiting in the wings...that game irritated the hell out of me.

I wish somebody with some extra time on their hands would create a YouTube montage of our defensive play this season set to that music. It'd go viral.

Me, too. All it takes is time and the talent to do it. I've got the time.......

There's something not known to the general public about coach O. Too many schools have passed on him as a HC, but are willing to keep him around as an assistant.

Orgeron had personal issues while coaching at Miami and took a year off to get his life together, which has obviously hurt him. Even so, he got his chance later at Mississippi and failed to win. Good assistant but a head coach position isn't likely.

No thanks on Orgeron... in any capacity. He was tied to the criminal enterprise at USC under Carroll, and was a bust at Mississippi. I can't think of a worse fit for OU.

Orgeron fixed his life from substance abuse and anger management issues. He was retained by Carroll at USC having been on the previous staff. There is no evidence that suggests he was involved in the USC scandal that I have ever seen or heard. He is a good coach, but would likely not be if he coached in the little xii, where coaches tend to get torched....................

Ed is a DL coach, but Aranda is the DC. You gonna bring his players and get all these spread offenses off the schedule?

Nobody was going to win at Mississippi. The only reason they are winning now is due to cheating.

The guy has a wonderful and uplifting story. And he is a good coach. OU would be lucky to have him - imho

I like his story too, but his issue at Mississippi was he never developed an offense. I think while he was there the offense ranked 100+ each year. LSU won't turn the reins over to Ed, IMO. They are probably looking for someone like Texas wants. Fisher may still be a target even as FSU continues to fade. If Texas continues to win, LSU may not have the competition that was expected in signing a high profile head coach. Could Charlie keep his job?? Wow!
