It didn't take nearly as long for him to get up after he whiffed on a tackle or a guy 6 inches shorter and 80 pounds lighter knocked him off his feet. USM backs ran by the guy like he was a parked truck.

Truth is he may have been a lot better player under Saban. That's what happens when you cave under the pressure of local no-nothings.
No offense to Elam. He may be and probably is a great kid but wow is he the epitome of a high school phenom with a huge body that has no athletic ability.
Maybe he is a great kid as you say. But I'm not sure a great kid shows up for a visit from Charlie Strong to his high school wearing his uahkay garb. That is exactly what he did. Do you think he did the same thing when the Alabama coaches came to visit? He is as worthless as teets on a boar hog as a football player. He couldn't even get out of HIS OWN WAY last night. Quicker!? Maybe to the food line.

Elam is getting exactly what he signed up for, three squares a day (probably more like six), and an easy academic major (Lorenzen School of Nutrition).
Seriously though, I don't think I have heard his name called out for a tackle more than three times in his career. I never heard it once last night and I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the entire game.

Elam is GREAT... the perfect extra-large example of an in-state kid that does everything wrong and chooses to wear the blew. You see what that got him: a big, fat zero. And that's what he turned out to be.
