This time of year, it is impossible to read comments by the coach. Stoops is not going to say "we suck" or "we are awesome." Of course neither is true, but the inclination is toward getting the most out of the players. So, while some can make a huge deal out of Stoops' negative comments about the LBers' play during the first scrimmage or about positive comments concerning some LBers' play after the second session on Monday, the comments probably are not relevant to us or our understanding.
Stoops has had a way of being less optimistic in years past, to say the least. Would rarely give too much praise to the team. He's been far and away the most optimistic this season than he's ever been.
Also consider, he more or less did say that the linebackers sucked when they played Saturday, so yeah, he would say that.
I agree, but also know that he is dealing with ticket sales that are not what they were last year. I hope his confidence is confirmed on the field.

Ticket sales are just fine.
Stoops wouldn't lie that the LB's are doing good now since Saturday he said they absolutely sucked at the scrimmage.
This. Stoops usually will say when they had a terrible practice or if someone played bad. Stoops isn't as PC as most coaches are.Stoops has had a way of being less optimistic in years past, to say the least. Would rarely give too much praise to the team.
