A big part of play design and game planning is finding mismatches of talent, strength, speed, etc., no?

I'd much rather eliminate games between 1A and 1AA schools, and even 1A P5 and low-tier 1A G5 schools. There is where the real talent disparity lies.

Yes, it certainly is. And watching inferior teams (nee Rutgers) stuff a short yardage "bulldozer" play is a serious head scratcher.
