UK had early interest but it ultimately came down to Tennessee and Auburn. With UT likely to get Ament it looks like Freeman felt he would have a bigger role at Auburn. I enjoyed watching him play for LMU.

I hope in 2 years UK isn’t saying I wish we had this guy. I think UK could have got him if they had pushed for him early.

FWIW I do think he’s going to have to adjust to the physicality of the SEC. But he has the overall tools.

We have to get used to the idea that there will be many “one that got away” types in the portal era. You’re filling a roster of 15 players and probably only 10 of them can be rotation pieces. Freeman is a promising player and I would have been excited to have him but it didn’t work out. Hopefully our roster will be as good as I think it is.

This is a risky one Bruce Pearl landed a top 10 talent three recruiting classes ago at the power forward position and never made it off the bench. Traore . Very similar players also

I would’ve loved to have him here and let him ease his way into our system. Has a lot of natural talent and could turn into a special player one day. I wish him the best as long as it’s not against us of course.

I love Cracker Barrell as much as the next fat *** white man, but that's an insane place to take a college recruit. Especially with NIL the way it is.
Guess he met with him in Middlesboro. Should have went to Shades downtown or brought him to Knoxville. It’s just about an hour drive.

So far Auburn has 2 jucos and D2 guy. Interesting class.
Not true. Auburn had 3 D1 transfers and 1 Juco and now Freeman from D2. I have no clue how good their transfers are, but I see the class is rated top 10 by 247sports.

Barnes and a couple other assistants visited him at Harrogate. Then Barnes personally came and picked him up on Wednesday for his campus visit in Knoxville.

I think what hurt UT was the same day as the visit, the buzz was UT was getting Ament. Which by the way hasn’t officially happened.

Unfortunately, I think this is going to be one that we’ll regret not giving it our all to land. Dude has length, versatility to play several positions, and is a hella good shooter (46% from deep and 19ppg).

This kid was the first one I thought of when Kam Williams committed to UK and said that he wanted to get a roster spot before it was filled with someone else.

So, I'm guessing that Coach Pope and his staff felt that Kam had a higher ceiling than Freeman and offered him first and he jumped on the opportunity.

I believe I would have ate at the on campus Chick-Fil-A before I went to Cracker Barrel in Middlesboro. It’s terrible. lol

I never liked it.. Was always an old folks restaurant.. Now I'm the old folks but still don't like it..
It, like everything else, is not as good as it used to be. Good Cracker Barrell was done right, portions were huge and mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly. Delicious.

Now it's just meh unless you find a good one.

I would drive across state lines for golden corral 20 years ago.. Now I'd not go to my mailbox for them.. Something changed..

Ahhh.....we had a Golden Corral here in town and it was the first buffet style restaurant I truly went to (minus Chinese). It was amazing. You could get whatever you wanted, good baked goods, etc. Great place to go after work with a team or just after church. Sigh. I miss that.

I hate Golden Corral and always have but man that is/was always my families go to restraunt. The change you talk about is probably like the change just like anywhere nothing is like it used to be.

Pearl has put together a pretty good squad already, even with losing Baker-Mazara. The biggest question mark is at PG with Pettiford.

Otherwise, Overton, Freeman, Hall, and Murphy will make a nice starting lineup while the freshmen and Juco guys will provide depth.

Doesn't Freeman and Hall play the same position?
