More budget cuts? 🙄

She sided with folks like Riley Gaines that said biological males shouldn't compete in women's sports. Hope she gets a massive payout if she chooses to file a lawsuit.
Wild that you think this had anything to do with this. How do you guys function thinking literally everything is some woke conspiracy? RGIII also got let go.

Do a Google search of her name and look at news. You will see several reports, all but one saying in the headline that she was let go for budgetary reasons.

And then there is the one with a different headline, from Fox News, saying she was fired and mentions her speaking out about trans issues.

I guess RG3 is also a MAGA nut, eh? He got canned today too. But don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.

Also, I’m still not convinced Riley isn’t a transmission. Weird face, no boobs, no ***, shoulders wider than the mole on Ginny Sac’s ***.
Love the Sac's comment

Did you hear someone say Sam Ponder was MAGA or do you live in a fantasy world of strawmen?

Dude, your exile from the political board clearly weighs upon your desire to bait. You are the message board equivalent of a trench coat flasher. You cannot help yourself.

Still curious to hear more on his non renewal. I was indifferent towards him but most considered him a rising star.

I guess stephen a or mcafee needed a few more million. Maybe they are paying to bring back worthless skip. No telling except corporate America is wrought with stupidity.

OP's thoughts are a microcosm for how this all works. For the people in power it's always about one thing: money. Meanwhile, the working class dolts continue to focus on their culture wars instead of how the Corporatocracy we've become continues to screw all of us over.

Happy Friday, y'all!!

He wasn't well reviewed or received on last year's pre game nfl coverage.

He also said a lot of goofy and borderline inappropriate things commentating games. I thought they were funny but some people may not have.

As for Ponder, it is interesting how all the very few conservative women seem to be the ones sent packing. She clearly wasn't fired due to performance like RG3 was.

Totally agree that all of the division about race, sexual orientation, etc is just a tool to keep people from seeing the true thing that separates us and that is money. The rich and powerful want us feuding over nonsensical stuff so we don't have time to come together to fight the real divider of this country.....wealth.

I believe this is referred to as the Roman circus, ultimately leading to the downfall of the Roman Empire. We currently have it where only like 10% of the population can afford a nice new house - not good.

Also Sam Ponder was hot.

Classic Liberal: Sam Ponder was hot and talented. I don’t see why they would let her go. If this was political, that sucks and is wrong.

Typical conservative: Sam Ponder was hot and talented. She voiced an opinion that the woke religion hates and now she is fired. Not cool.

Wokester: I am sure ESPN was just making a sensible business decision. So shut up.

😆

I think RG3 was two fold: he wasn't very good, relying way too much on trying to make puns and jokes, especially on the college games.. and he apparently got ousted because he took a shot at Paul Finebaum that didn't go over well.

Honestly king of amazing he got this to begin with

Did Rod Gilmore keep his job? He’s an attorney, you know.

You know, as hard as it is for feeble minds to grasp, you can have two different rationales for two different firings.

Finebaum gets way too much clout there. He's pushing 70 and his show is boring. I do like him when discussing the playoff or the sport with other analysts.

And now that I think about it, ESPN is about to the point where they are gonna trot Corsos Norma Bates like corpse out to do GameDay another decade so I guess Paul is still a spring chicken at 69.

And then there is the one with a different headline, from Fox News, saying she was fired and mentions her speaking out about trans issues.
You are being manipulated by a headline. The Fox headline says:

ESPN fires Sam Ponder, who spoke up about trans inclusion in women's sports, and analyst Robert Griffin III

The headline ties the firing of Ponder to her previous statements in an attempt to connect the two. It does not say that is why she was fired. In fact, the article itself says "A source familiar with Ponder and Griffin’s firings told Fox News Digital they were business decisions...Ponder’s lone show was "Sunday NFL Countdown."

The headline is clickbait and everyone in this thread is falling for it.

“Business decision” is clear as mud. What is clear is that no one in this thread has expressed a justification for getting rid of Ponder. I don’t watch the talking head shows, but every time I have seen her, she has been sharp and talented. “Business decision” can mean anything.

What is also clear is that ESPN has made “business decisions” about other talented women who were vocal about their traditional perspectives.

Finebaum just seems like an extremely bitter SEC/Bama fan. He gets into such pissing matches on his shows and with others. I don't understand how he's in the position he's in. He's a huge hater.

Lol again you're being manipulated by a headline. This article is not saying "It's all gonna come out and you'll learn the real reason for her firing."

The quote is from Sage Steele saying Sam Ponder will now express her true opinions about everything. That's what's "all gonna come out," it is not implying that any ESPN secrets are coming out.

This makes you so happy.
Why's that? Because some here are making assumptions and presenting them as fact, which predictably lays blame on trans folks? Nah, we see that obsession weekly on the Paddock. Or is it because someone from ESPN was let go? Nah. Just give me the games. I never watch extra coverage of any sport or any shows on ESPN.

I'm pretty happy it's Friday though.

Did you even read the article? Seems not.

Who said anything about “secrets?” What???? I posted an article, chief, without any commentary. 🤦‍♂️

They’ve got a younger and hotter version of her in Laura Rutledge, assuming she gets the promotion from the NFL live show that does great ratings for them.

Now if they put Mike Greenberg in the chair and try to ruin my Sunday mornings, I’ll be sad.

Rutledge is 35 and Ponder is 38
