Listen, respectfully, there is a decent chance this B Jo thing is going to get rubbed into our wounds like a handful of salt for a long time at the NFL level, so can we maybe not actively seek the saline solution out?

Notre Dame is further down my list of hated teams than most people here, but definitely bottom ten. That said, I want Brandon to have tremendous success there. He's a good kid, didn't flame the program when he left, and he did what any sane person with NFL aspirations would do - get the he11 away from JON.

Loosely related topic. In the stadium reno, they'll need to expand the façade to allow for more All-Americans and bowls. At least I HOPE we need that.

Maybe we can start taking credit for Notre Dame bowl games too at this rate.

Putting BJo as a preseason all American really shows no one watched NU last season. The transfer is certainly starting up his hype again so that’s good for him.

tbf, would you have watched us if you weren't a fan? We were terrible AND boring.

Also, Joseph still had a couple of highlight reel plays last year. Look at the 2 long PR's he made and the diving INT in the end zone, for instance. And, contrary to popular belief, he did have a few tackles. If anything, it's well deserved disrespect FOR NU that he's considered an AA candidate. Something like "well, he was great at NU prior to the JON sh1tshow, and still showed flashes, he will likely rebound with a real defense and DC."

We've seen other players regress, then bounce back. Baz and Paddy come to mind.

Might be a hot take but ESPN CFB analysts should watch games/ film. This is obviously just throwing in a familiar name in a list made for clicks. Joseph told Louie he didn't perform well in 2021... anyone with eyes could see it. Is he a bad player? probably not. Does he deserve to be a pre season all american after his performance last season? Hell no. His draft stock is currently day 3 to UDFA even with film from his great 2020.

Lol, writers don't watch ****.

On air guys, mostly a different story. Writers barely even watch the games they're COVERING in between getting their game recaps ready and hitting the spread.

This is a projection.

It’s reasonable to expect that he will be better next year. Last year was not equal to his 2020 performance, both because a) his unit was led by a uniquely weak coordinator, and b) it was easy for him in 2020 and he believed what was written and said about him.

a) has been fixed. We don’t know yet about b).

JON wouldn’t still be the DC at any other program in the conference. Yuck.

This is exactly it. I hope we can all agree that they guy has a ton of talent. I believe we all agree, including Brandon, that he took a step back in 2021. He says so himself. Therefore, he has started to take the necessary steps to improve, by joining a program that has what we most likely will not in 2022 - good coaching, a good supporting cast on D, and a lot of visibility. This visibility is important, because, as we know, for every Rashawn Slater, there are 10 Shaun Wades that get accolades because of where they play.

Shaun wade was la 5th round pick because that’s where he should have been picked. All the visibility in the world and the halo of playing for a big name program will matter very little once the NFL scouts dig into your tape and put you through their hoops. Visibility is a two way street. Brandon already got a taste of that last year and he is about to get another huge dose next year. For his sake, I hope he is putting in the work.

reasonable to expect he will improve? Yup. Reasonable to believe he’s one of the top two safeties in the country after his performance last season? Definitely not. If he projected to be a top 2 safety in CFB next season he would’ve declared for the draft.

don’t see why JON is relevant to this. This isn’t about why BJo left.

Because every college football player wants to play 5 years in the minor leagues before moving on to the NFL.
Totes. Most are definitely planning to take some time off to go bag groceries for a bit before making the jump between the minors and the League.

Alert - goal post shift. Was responding to corbis assertion about nfl scout knowledge and visibility.

But you could say that about anyone on this list then. If they are projected to be top 2 at their position, they would've declared already. But somebody has to be on this list!
