Did anyone watch the ESPN guys at halftime of the osu game? They literally chuckled through their take on the Rose Bowl. They seemed to think idea of OUs chances against Georgia hilarious. One of them tossed out in passing the idea that Baker’s play was our best defense.

I try not to let idiots bother me., but how many times do they have to be wrong about the same issue before they give us credit. With so many games and so many hours to fill, talent is getting thin.

I saw it. Sooners likely won't get any respect unless they win the next 2 games and even then it will be hard for some of them to say anything good. I really don't care what they say and I think all the dissing works to OU's advantage.
One thing you have to remember is some of them were on the bandwagon before the losses in the Title Games vs LSU, USC and Florida and some were still on it before the big loss to Clemson in the playoffs. Maybe some of them are just tired of praising OU only for them to look bad when we lose. I really don't know.

One more thing, most at espn are still sore because Bob dissed their favorite pet, the sec.

I like it, lights fires under our guys feet. We know Baker, he likes being told negative things. We need to go out kick some ***.
I would like to think this team would be motivated enough to be playing in the playoffs with a chance for a national title. Not sure what to think if they need to get motivated by outside influences.....

ESPN reporting that Baker hasn’t attended the “non-football” functions the last two days due to an illness, yet he practiced Thursday?? I can’t find anything about that whatsoever. Anyone?

Edit: Just read the practice thread. Nothing much to be concerned about.
I wonder if Mayfield is maximizing his rest between practices in avoiding the media gigs. If so, good for him.

In my 'Overthinking' Mode, I even considered that his keeping a low profile might be a SECURITY Precaution. As Baker goes, so go The Sooners...If the Chicago Mobsters can arrange a 'Sickening Soup', imagine what the Vegas Moguls can do...

My guess is that Bake's maxing focus time.

He is SO in his element. Will speak w/reporters later today...

Baker’s time today with the press has been canceled. When other players are asked about Baker they (according to ESPN), to a man, say Coach Riley will address that tomorrow. I think Baker has a bug and Riley is simply making certain he is getting plenty of rest and staying away from big groups. Normal precautions for anyone that isn’t feeling 100% before a big game. A big game.....LOL. It’s so much more!

I don't think anyone is "complaining" about what the media is saying or has said, they are just pointing it out. I mean after all Baker is carrying around a big sign that says "Pretenders" on it. Is he complaining?
Sure, they should be motivated enough just to be in the playoffs but a little extra motivation can't hurt.

Lawd, Monday can't get here soon enough. One of my Dawg friends: "According to ESPN it's gonna be a Baker highlight reel!!" Yes, believe it or not, in a matchup that Vegas spreads at less than a FG, talking heads have reasons to pick either side. Go figure.
