Before the rule change the extra point was a meaningless play as the kickers never missed. Now it's not automatic and brings other strategies into the game. Agree with the above poster who said that one play does not decide the game. The missed extra point was in the 1st half. New England had plenty of time to make up the one point. BTW, they didn't fire their kicker after the game. But they did fire their Oline coach. Maybe if they had blocked better, or actually kept a TE on one side to widen the DE, and use a back to chip the other, then Brady may have not been hit 23 times and he may have had time to throw.
