Planning on a trip for spring break here in a couple of weeks but not sure where to go. Would like to keep it within a 9 to 10 hour drive from OKC area. Kids are 6 and 10...probably looking at 5 to 6 days including the travel days.

Anyone take a trip recently and had a lot of fun?

San Antonio Riverwalk/Sea World was the wife’s idea and one we are considering. Seems like something easy to plan out.

take them to Angel Fire New Mexico to Ski. I personally am not a fan of Six Flags and Sea World due to lines and money pits.

Ski trip. Santa Fe is in your future.

We are going to Deer Valley next week, kids love a week a year in the snow.

Taos is one of the worse mountains in America for beginners.

Found this out last year. Their greens are like the hardest red river blues. Wife and I had not ski'd since 1992. Kids had never been skiing. Son about ski'd off the side of the mountain. Do not take beginners.

If the snow is good, Ruidoso, NM is a good spot. Angel Fire is great for beginners.

Big Cedar Lodge.

I would consider Memphis. Beale street is fun, even for kids. Tons of fun things to do. Great zoo, botanical gardens, children's museums, other museums, Mississippi River, paddle wheel boats and great food. We took our kids there when they were slightly older than yours and they loved it. We've been back multiple times (adults only)

Turns out we will be in Arkansas the very first part of the week so that changes things up a bit. We are looking at New Orleans, but Memphis is an idea too...

I love New Orleans, but I'm not sure it's a fit for your kids. Another option, if you're in Arkansas, is Branson.

My kids are really cool...

We did some looking and there does seem to be some fun things to do in New Orleans for kids/family.

Most of our vacations in the past have been to visit family so we suck at planning our own trips.

Next trip should include Colorado Springs.
Zoo and Will Rogers monument.
Royal Gouge close.
Pike's Peak cog railway or drive.
Cave of the Winds.
Garden of the Gods.
Air Force Academy.
Olympic training center.
Cripple Creek close but your kids need to be a little older.

I'm sure they are lol. I just didn't think you'd be ready to wash their eyes with bleach!
