While that was ridiculous, I am not going to judge the entire city of Chicago based on the actions of some teenagers. Teenagers are morons. I know. I have two of them now.

And this kind of crap happens everywhere. In the progressive, upper middle-class town of Connecticut where I live, there are two public high schools. The kids who go to both schools grew up together playing sports in town leagues or in music classes or other activities. Yet, for reasons I'll never understand, these two schools can't have a basketball game or football game against each other without a major fight breaking out after (and one year in the game itself). If we ever do build a colony on Mars, I would be in favor of sending all children up there from the ages of 13 to 18.

Actually it is. That McDonalds game has been played in Chicago for many years and successfully I might add. Someone probably showed up with another's girlfriend or lost a bet on a meaningless game.

In Chicago since 2011. I'm curious about this Gus macker incident referred to in the initial post - what was that as I have no memory of that. I always thought Chicago had shoot the bull so Gus macker never came to Chicago. Chicago will also be hosting the frozen four in a few weeks and has hosted several big ten tournaments - I don't recall there ever being issues before. I think this is more about the riff-raff that go to high school level games, anywhere, than it does about Chicago

During the late 50's and through at least the 60's most if not all Chicago H.S. football games were scheduled during the day. Two many problems with crowd control them but don't know if night games are being played now.

For reasons you'll never understand? You identified six reasons right there in your own words Mr. C. The age of the kids is one. The fact sports competition is involved is another. Involving community rivals? There's a third. Can you name the other three? Hint ... this kind of crap does not happen everywhere...at least not with the regularity you describe.

You might be thinking of a different game. The McDonald's All-American Game was only held in the Chicago area once before 2011, when the 1982 game was played in Rosemont.

Thankfully, the Cubs didnt win the World Series Game 7 in Chicago. For sure there would have been a multiple of beatings, killings and looting.

Surprised that when the Cubs beat the dodgers at home to win the NL or the times the bulls and Blackhawks won at home there wasn't Armageddon in the streets. The Bears won the NFC championship game at home in 2006 - again, mass murdering across the city.

Really? Maybe it was a different game. I remember watching Joakim Noah play in that game at the United center as a HS senior.
